Title: Annoying attraction/repulsion actions
Post by: Lyran on 2006 March 14, 16:43:58
I am really tired of my simmies constant attraction/repulsion actions. Is there a way to get rid of those actions?

Humm other than not making them check any Sims out I don't see any way.  And one day or another it will kick in unless all your Sims stay single forever and become nuns or priest and hides from the Sim world!  Anyway weither they have bolts for each other or not never stopped me from matching them if I wish.  But I do agree seeing them with those hearts floating or repulsive action is redundant but it does not really bother me.

EDIT:  Took out the info about the mods since it was irrelevant.

If you mean like how they gag over someone they're repulsed by, I don't know any way to get rid of it, but I feel your pain.  That always bothers me when they do that.

LOL it's odd to discover the things that piss off other folks. It always amuses me when a sim does the revulsion thing ... mind you, I use the JMP Director's cut cos too much of a good thing and all that ... wot wot  :P

I think it's funny, too, but a lot of little stuff annoys me so I understand wanting to 86 this. A lot of my CAS and born in-game Sims seem really, really repulsed by Don Lothario, which makes me wonder if that's just a coincidence.

It seems like if there's a "noswoon" hack there could be a "no cringe" hack.

The attraction/repulsion poses are considered to be harmless, since unlike the swoon thing, they don't appear to be queue-blocking, and are just idle actions.

Yeah, they don't get in the way of anything. My simmie likes to fawn over his husband while she is manning her salon chair and in return, he licks his finger and sizzles the air at her while he is checking out customers.

And they wonder why they have three babies crawling around...

A thing doesn't have to get in the way to be annoying ....... but I'm not terribly awesome, I know.

I can live with the gagging -- it's certainly not annoying enough to make me want to stop playing.  I just don't like it, that's all.

It is funny to see what bugs different people!  I'm not going to pick on anyone for the pet peeves, because I sure have mine.

I just love it, though, when my new sim-self sees a potential customer she's about to gag over and has to go wait on him anyway.  It's just so apt! LOL

Lol, I'm like that in the bridal shop where I work, I gag when the bridezilla's come in :D

The main thing that bugs me is the amount of these actions. At least 10 times in a day when my simmies are told to go and sell something, they have to show attraction/repulsion before they do what I ask them. It's not just when they have nothing to do. Maybe this really don't interfer with the game play the way it seems to me, but it is stupid. More so I just hate when one of my simmies constantly shows attraction to his mother-in-law, no matter whether his wife is in the room or not :(

If his mother-in-law's an elder, you can at least make his turn-off gray hair!  ;D

I had this whole thing going on where this one sim's daughters' husbands thought she was hotter than they did the daughters!  I finally fixed them with the gray hair thing. ;)

With ya there, Phyllis. My own peeve is the incedible amount of noise the little critters make when they eat. Even the neatest ones manage to sound more like an unruly mongrel chomping through a bowlful of entrails ... and since when did omlettes become crunchy? If I ever got a crunchy omlette I break the cooks head with it and serve him right if I did!

They're crunchy if they have potatoes in them... Mmm.... potato omelette.....

No! I cook them! They get all toasty and crispy. Yum, yum.
