Title: Problems with the new Bluewater terrain.
Post by: Emma on 2006 March 13, 20:54:26
This was so weird, I decided to make my own university town, and I put the community lots from the 3rd college town (le tourneau something-sorry, I'm sleepy!) on the terrain, then added a secret society and some dorms and little houses I had made scattered around. I noticed the terrain looked really weird when I had placed the lots, they looked as if they had those yellow flowers scattered around them! I then went to CAS to make my students, when I went back to the college town all the lots apart from the dorms had disappeared and where they were placed before were pools of water! I have no idea what happened. I did take a picture, but I can't seem to find it. ???
I have made my own uni n'hoods using the lots from the original uni towns on other terrains-putting the community lots in the bin to use with no problems. I am thinking maybe the Bluewater terrain is very bugged, cos I have read people posting problems with disappearing businesses and suchlike.

Look in the main storytelling folder, I think its in the base folder when you open "my documents/eagames/sims 2". I found out that is where all my pics where going when I take them of the hood or of an unoccupied house. (thanks Inge!)

*the other part I have no clue.

I had exactly the same thing happen on my system the other day. The pools of water on lots and the yellow lokking terrain from the NH view. I have an Nvidia FX 5200 video card that has been a bit buggy ever since nightlife so I just passed it off as that.

I have looked nectere...it's just gone. I am starting to wonder if I print-screened instead, and thought I took a picture! (I do dozy things like that!)

I am using the same card I have used for all games-and it is ok for all the other neighbourhood terrains apart from the new one.

Could someone send me the Bluewater file? I could try fix them. It should be in the SC4Terrains folder and the file name should be Bluewater.sc4

Happens here as well. I took some snaps of the flying pig but they are nowhere to be found. I took some additional snaps of the terrain again to test it out and they too are nowhere to be found.

Seems to be a bug.

I was half way thru placing lots in my new neighborhood. I was getting a lot of the sunken terrain/roads and lots now underwater. It was supposed to be a low sea-level beach town. I didn't want "cliffs" but a gentle sloping to the water. Had to go back into SimCity and raise the land elevation some more to prevent the "sinkholes". Hadn't noticed thsi prior to OFB with completely flat land that was "green". (I know the land that showed "sandy" colored was too low lying to place any lots with sloping terrain / ponds on them.)

So it should fix the problem if I raise the land with SC4? I might just try that-thanks Simmiecal.

Since we are talking about terrains, am I the only one that has camera spin around in Sedona? It only does that there, not in any of the other maxis terrains besides the neighborhoods that come with the game.

This is slightly off topic, but who are these people? I found the picture in my storytelling folder.

No, you're not the only one Simsbaby. I decided to make Veronaville my "test" neighborhood and the first time I entered it, it spun around in circles to the point I felt nauseated. Once I clicked on the options button though, it stopped and hasn't done since.

Those people are, from left to right a toddler, his mother, General Buzz Grunt, his wife, and some other random people.

That is a screenshot from pre TS2...At the first version of Thesims2.com before the game came out one of the Maxoids had a story...It was the toddlers birthday party...

I went looking around and I found the video, I liked how the woman with the curly hair went and told her sister that her husband was cheating on her.

The blonde on the right and the dark haired man beside her are early incarnations of Dina Caliente and Don Lothario.
