Title: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: spambi on 2006 March 05, 15:02:29 After installing OFB, I had one dorm and three residential lots that would not load. The only thing I can think of that they all had in common was the ReNuYuSenso Orb (none of my other lots that loaded had this reward.) For the residential lots I just found new the sims a new home, but in the college I moved them out of the dorm, tried to move them back in (the game hung), entered the lot without the sims and removed the Orb and then moved the sims back in with no problem.
Has anyone else had problems with lots that don't load after installing OFB and could it have been related to the Orb? Title: Re: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: Motoki on 2006 March 05, 15:39:26 Yep, it's been noted as an issue and I think Maxis is a aware of it. I'm never quite sure what there were aware of; I thought they were aware of not being able to change toddlers appearance but Maxoid Tom acted like it was a surprise to him when I pointed it when he came here digging for info about the NL patch, and that was a year after the game had come out and shipped with that problem.
For now, just put them in your inventory or delete them after you use them. Title: Re: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: PattyB on 2006 March 05, 16:08:44 Spambi,
Yes, the ReNuYuSenso Orb will cause the lot to hang and not load. Load the lot in debug mode and when you get the error about the orb, just click delete. The lot will load fine then. If you put a new Orb on the lot, the game will load fine. It's just the orbs that were placed in NL that give a problem. Title: Re: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: spambi on 2006 March 05, 16:19:39 For future reference, how do I load a lot in debug mode?
Thanks Title: Re: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: DrBeast on 2006 March 05, 16:25:12 When in neighborhood screen, press Ctrl+Shift+C to bring down the command console line at the top of the screen, type:
boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true and hit enter. Now enter the offending lot. To turn it off, press Ctrl+Shift+C again and type: boolprop testingCheatsEnabled false and hit enter. Edited for clarification. Title: Re: Lots not loading in OFB -- possibly related to ReNuYuSenso Orb? Post by: bubbs on 2006 March 06, 00:22:49 Thanks, this may be why some of my lots can not load. Until I saw this thread, I wasn't sure why they were messed up.
