More Awesome Than You!

It arrived in EB Games in Australia this morning. Something in my hacks folder definitely hates it, now it's a matter of working out what exactly that is...

For those of you who have it: whaddaya think? The new clothes and hairstyles amused me, one in particular...the 'opening a business' bit is driving me insane, though. Maybe I'm going about it the wrong way.

I get mine tomorrow. Yipeee!!! No sleep tonight.

Mine's supposed to get here tomorrow, too.  I'm going to start with a completely fresh install, and slowly port over the hacks I've collected.  You know, do it RIGHT this time!  ;-)

GGGRRRR.  I went to EB this morning and they told me it would be in after lunch, so I put a deposit on it and waited...and waited...and waited...and I'm still WAITING.  It's 10 oçlock at night .  SOB'  :'(

Got my copy this morning.  I got home about an hour ago and installed it and...it crashed  :(  I tried again and it crashed again  :'(

Some time this month. No hurry here.

Nooo.  Any ideas why?

To be honest, I think it is a problem with my computer.  It randomly freezes and then I have to switch it off at the wall as the keyboard & mouse are no longer working - ctrl alt delete doesn't work.  I've had it checked out today and it seems to perform perfectly for anyone other than me  :(  I'll ring up again tomorrow and see if the IT person can come up with any other ideas on how to fix it.

Sorry about your computer but I'm so glad it isn't the game itself. :)  What a shitty time for it to play up though! :(

Mine was shipped but I have no idea when I get it.

I have to work till next Tuesday till i get a real day off so i can play it should be here then.

I pre-ordered it from Amazon (had a gift certificate that made it pretty cheap), and they're saying it won't ship until March 5th or so. But I'm in no hurry -- I'd rather sit back and read the early reports here so I know what breaks before I install it.  ::)

Some places around here like BestBuy and CompUSA are supposed to have it today, but you never know because of their delivery schedules.  I'm just going to call ahead before going and will go pick up a copy when someone finally says it's in stock.

Mine should be here tomorrow. Figures since I'm home sick today :(

Mine is being "processed", so should hopefully be here by the weekend at the latest.  We always get it slightly later here anyway.  The official release date is Friday, but I got NL a couple of days early from the same place.

EB just called to let us know our games were in and we could pick them up anytime, although they told us yesterday that they wouldn't be here until tomorrow. My husband is going to play hookie from work this afternoon and go pick them up. Yay!

Just checked the site and my game has been posted today, so with a bit of luck it'll arrive tomorrow, it only took one day last time.  Going to have to sort out my downloads folder tonight then and get rid of all the meshless crap and the grotty clothes.  There's just too much rubbish in there.

I pre-ordered with Amazon (U.S.) because I had a couple of gift certificates which made it practically free; as of this morning it still hasn't shipped but delivery is esimated at tomorrow??? I don't see how they can manage that. I won't have any time to play it until next week some time anyway (but I still want to hold it in my hot little hands!).

walmart online betrayed me. My order said processing and that it would arrive by March 1 (got overnight shipping). But today I got an email saying it was "delayed" so I cancelled. No point in overnight shipping since I can get it anywhere tomorrow anyway.

Oh that's quite ok LOL. I just want to get rid of the bronchitis cough NOW (yesterday would have been better). But maybe tomorrow I'll still be a bit "weak" and have to leave work early ;)

Ours should arrive sometime this week. It should be shipped today, and hopefully I will have it by Friday!

I went home the other day to see if my sister and I could find the guide at our local B&N down the block, but unfortunately it wasn't there. :P We did peruse the guide for the console version of TS2. We both gagged at the site of Goopy Gilscarbo, who apparently was made into a character as well on the console version. The other sims included Don :P and Nina and Dina. I think all the characters were relatively new, or at least neither of us were familiar with them. It actually looked kind of interesting. At least worth a rental, but unfortunately, every time we've gone to our local Blockbuster, we never see it there. :P Maybe we'll wait for it to drop down into the bargain bin.

Can't wait for OFB though. Even if I'm still kind of feeling lackluster and lukewarm about it, just the idea of a new EP and new things to do, interact with and what not is something to look forward to.

Our EB always gets them on the street date (which is NOT the ship date that you see in the online stores--it's almost always Wednesday). I just wind up having to wait for them to get their UPS shipment sometime before noon.
I'm installing now--sitting here with the "Please Wait" that I remember took something like 20 minutes with NL to finish whatever it is doing.

Best Buy is holding my copy to pick up after work.  And with the Rewards Zone card, it's only $23 US.  :)

Mine is at EB games now. Can't get it till tomorrow though, and no free time until at least 3pm Friday, then it will take most of friday to sort out what hacks I have to remove, then as long as the phone hack still works i can start playing this weekend!

Lucky.  I should have just cancelled my preorder with Gamestop and went to best buy...I think it was a bit cheaper than other places.  I paid $35 freaking dollars so this EP better be damned good lol  It may only be $5 more than the places that had it on sale, but I'm cheap :D

I'm glad you pointed it out. I've seen a few posts about that problem and it has me concerned. I'm really glad that it's working for MokeyHokey but I wonder why some people are plagued with it and others are fine. I'm probably going to go purchase my game tomorrow but I'm anxious that I'll be one of the ones that have to deal with that bug. It will be nice to know what is the cause of that bug.

Got it this morning after waiting for EB to ring me yesterday, they reckon they tried, but I don't think so.  Assholes made me wait 24 hours! ;)

I've already got another problem. *sigh*
My Sim family bought a community lot business, then traveled there in their car and spent a bunch of time getting it started. I saw that I was able to save and everything there, figured it was because it was their business. I was happy to be able to save, and decided to try saving and quitting from there as it was getting late and I'd want to play again there the next day.

Saved and quit successfully, although the game gave me a message about how the next time I played I would have to start at the community lot and take my Sims home from there. Didn't have any problem with that.

Today, I went back into the game and first tried to enter the community lot directly. That didn't work, just loaded up the lot without a family, you know, the way community lots normally are when you go into them without a family. No problem, kind of figured that wouldn't work.

So then I went back to the neighborhood and clicked on the family's house. The plumbbob over their house was a darker green than usual and when I clicked to go in, it said that they were visiting the community lot so that's what would load up. So...game loads with the family screen this time, and eventually loads the community lot...but it was the same as before, with live mode grayed out with just buy and build mode.

What do I do? Not many people have OFP yet, I know, and most are too busy playing right now...but if anyone can help, please do

Hmm...I'm debating whether to get this expansion...I'm not antsy for it like I was for Uni or NL...hmm...Kingdom Hearts 2 or Sims expansion...heck I don't even know what Sim would have a business...Yuffie maybe?  *sigh* I guess this expansion is on the backburner.   :-\

Thanks for the thought.  I was sitting there last night trying to install and having it get all flaky on me - I just wanted to cry.  It is still acting up today but as it has been raining everyone else is miserable with me (albeit for different reasons :D)

I got mine yesturday 2/28, I did the overnight delivery with EB Games. I went out today and got the game guide from Best Buy.

I ordered OFB from Amazon as well. Delivery date was suppost to be tomorow but it wasn't until a couple of hours ago that I received noticed it had shipped. Delivery date is estimated at March 8th...what happened to my 2 day shipping is what I would like to know! >:(

Ahh, that's what tax returns are for! The EB guy was wishing he made commission the night my husband and I went in there to prepay for all the games we want that are coming out before August...and Yuffie will be back in April! (At least, if they don't push the release date AGAIN.  :P)

(to be honest, I'd have preferred to wait until it was bugfixed and my favourite hacks were updated, but my sister wants her favourite ugly Romance sim to open a beauty salon and make the townies look even fuglier. Who am I to argue with that?)

Seems like most of the hacks (on this site, anyway) are moving right along.  Already, a number of awesome hacks are ready. (Including Phone Hack! yay!)

Annoyingly, I'm away from my gaming PC at the weekend, so no OFB until Monday.

Maybe Amazon is fulfilling orders in roughly the order they were received. Mine still says the ship date is estimated to be the 6th, and I just pre-ordered it two days ago on the 28th, right before midnight. Took a long time to make up my mind whether I wanted to pre-order to get the extra mascot costume....

Well as a mac-user for whom Nightlife is still in Alpha over at Aspyr I'm not likely to have OFB anytime before June or July at the earliest.

Target for the win -- $29.99 plus purchasing it nets you a $5 gift card. Of course, I probably won't be installing it for a while, since I'd prefer to let other, less patient people find the bugs.

Just got it a few hours ago at EB Games. The game's installed and my hacks are all sorted out already. I'm about to finally play the game now. Hoping nothing explodes.  ;D

On a related note: I got the pre-order code without pre-ordering. He, I love my country. One of the few places where employees just don't seem to care with some games. (Keyword: some)

It's an amazing expansion pack! :) I enjoy it very much, but maybe thats because i enjoy its a very complex EP  ;D maybe thats bad for you, but i've never seen an EP for the sims (1 or 2) this deep before :D Is like micro business management. So fun and addictive.

I just bought mine today at Target. It's a sweet deal! I didn't even think about them having it.

*sigh* This just means I have to re-download hacks all over again. And I was hoping for an update to the Romance Mod for NL...

I think I'll sit this EP out. Running a business sounds like too much work, I feel tired just thinking about it. 

I'll only buy it if I find out there is more than one really gorgeous new hairstyle for guys in it... and hoping for some new male clothes that are actually sexy is just totally unrealistic...

 I don't have it yet,  I think it will be awhile before I get it.   I cancelled my internet for a month so that I could take a break from downloading and get my files cleaned out.   Then my computer started acting strange and I was not even on the net,  I reformated and reinstalled windows and got my internet back, but that was only the beginning of my problems,  it kept shutting down and saying "boot disc failure, insert the system disc".    So, I had to reinstall and reformat windows 5 times this weekend.   It seems to be working pretty good at the present but if it starts acting up again, it is going into the shop for a diagnosis and a tuneup.    >:(

OFB, does not sound like much fun to me,  maybe by the time I get my computer straightened out they will have a patch out and I might buy it then.   

I did a stupid thing and preorderd for EA. I had a $15 discount cupon and figured it was worth a day or two extra wait for a slow EA.
Needless to say it has almost been a week since releace, and three months since I preorderd the game and EA still says "Orderd".
To add salt on the wonds, their customer service SUCKS. No public phone numbers (none on their site at least) just some stupid text help crap that does not do anything. I'm close to driving up to Redwood City (5 or 6hrs from LA) and giving some poor secratary a piece of my mind.
It's not even the game I want so bad as it is the anger from shitty service I have gotten.
If there is a problem, delay, mishap, idiot employee breaking my game, anything, I want to know about it!
I want a place where I can talk to someone who speacks fluent english and is at the very least educated about EA. I would prefer that job stay in the States, but I can deal with it not being here so long as the people who I talk to KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
I'm getting to angry over this. Last time I buy from EA directly.
