hnote.net has good men's clothing. There's also a surprising amount of it at modthesims2 - look for fanseelamb. She did some shirts I'm really fond of.

sagesims.com also has some good adult men's clothing.

Between those three, I actually ended up with more clothes for the guys than I had for the women.

I love these kind of threads.  Although they always send me on a download spree.

Funny considering so many women play this game (and create content) that there is such a glaring disparity between content made male and female sims.  But I guess it's the same way that women magazines always feature a female on their cover.

I'm the same really.  Beyond having a decent selection of men clothing, I mostly get enthusiastic about female clothing. 

And barbie is way more popular than ken with little girls.

This is all saying something, but I have no idea what lol :)

There is more variety in women's clothing, that's why in real life and in the sims, there are just more clothes for women.

Just to say that beosboxboy at the insimenator site has just converted the uni curly hair for men, and i think it looks better than the female version.

My sim men are about to get a whole new wardrobe.

Well i found out this afternoon that i can download from *some* sites at work, so now in the process of sending them to myself as emails, in the hope my internet will connect for a while.

I'm still downloading fanseelamb stuff. Apparently I already knew about her because I'm seeing a lot of stuff I already have in my game. She's awesome!

Oh, I *can* download stuff at work. Question is, should I ... I kind of like being employed.

Oh, sorry. The one standing up looked tall for some reason so I thought it was a kid. That explains it. I'm kind of a toddler dictator. If they're not taking care of bodily needs they're playing with the charisma rabbit.

Maybe I ought to let up a bit. I think I'm missing out on some stuff ... my sims often surprise me if I just leave them to their own devices for a bit.

Of course, some of the dumber ones also go into the orange. Heather Huffington comes to mind.

I too am a sim dictator. And want to stop. Is there a recovery program? I want to see what my sims would do with less direction, but I can't quite let myself just let them .. you know, live their lives :)

Your Sims would not survive with no direction from you.  They make very stupid decisions on their own.  With less direction, they would still make dumb decisions, but you could probably get a laugh at their expense when they burn down the kitchen (yet again  ::)).

I'm very controlling with all my sims except the permaplat maxed-skill retired elders ... which all of my elders are. They get to chill (or, alternatively, burn) while I do paperwork. They never do anything really interesting though. They follow other people around the house so they can have pillowfights, they play chess incessantly, they start paintings they never finish, and they do a heck of a lot of standing around idly. It's really, really boring.

Comes in all 4 colors. I can't for the life of me figure out where I found it and I love it and preparing for a newp comp I'm trying to find all my "must haves" again so I can get them all nice and organized for the shiny new HD.

I have this one, too, with no indication where it came from as well.  Would the file names help you out any?  Or are you looking to download everything new?

Is it d09a39e6_hair_men ?  Clean Installer just calls it "black short". No help on origin :(

That's the same name I've got.  I even went to most of the sites I get hair from and looked, but nothing.

Yes I've been through all my bookmarks and can't find it anywhere.

This will bug me until I find it...the original file backup has a date of July 2005.  Hard telling how many sites have closed and/or reorganized since then. 

Has to have been available within the last couple of months because I didn't have it in my previous neighborhood and I just started the new one shortly before Christmas.  :D

I'm going to go through TSR yet again and see if I missed it.

For as much hair as TSR has, not much comes up when you sort by "male".   I've got no clue how long I've had it, just that I binned it on December 9th.

And it was just dumb luck, too, not any great searching skills on my part.

Don't lose your game and downloads just because you're getting a new computer!  In fact, that's what all the work I'm doing now is about.  Shortly I SHOULD be getting money and am planning on building a new PC.  Just take the hard-drive from your old computer and temporarily put it in the new computer as a slave drive (this will have to be set in the BIOS), then it's a simple matter of dragging files from that HD to the new one.  This has saved my stuff more times than I care to count!

Although I've never been through their whole site, I've found some nice men's clothing at Spiffy Sims (www.spiffysims.com)  I also like www.sagesims.com  They were previously under another URL.  They have mainly elder stuff, but a nice selection of clothing for other ages, too.

Universal Sims have good male clothings.

And the meshes are all included so no hunting all over the place.

I always like the challenge of looking for good male stuff. I am not interested in female stuff as there are too many of them lying around anyway.

Could someone please fix this hairstyle so that the package pulls the textures from the game and shows up in the standard bins?

I could try and do it. My last attempt at doing it failed but another experienced modder took pity on me and did it for me.  ;D But I did manage to do it with my Afro.

What Maxis texture does that hair use? I don't recognize it as being a Maxis texture, I'm assuming it a women's one then?

Speaking of that picture, I would love to have the man's hair, but I will probably be beaten with sticks if I ask for anymore. So I am not asking, just hinting.  :P

I wonder if it its still in the game files though. I guess it would have to be if they are using it. Unless they just happened to make their own that looked like it. I'll take a peak and see if I can find it.

as for adult skins , im suprized nobody has suggested sim chic it has some great stuff for men , altho a pay site they have some good freebies

as for male hair its a nightmare, i nearly tried to make it my self ,   but then i remember well i cant my few attempts and skins for sims1 showed me i should never be allowed near a paint package again , the the photo copy paste thing feels like cheating somehow to me

Motoki, I think that hair is from the Valentine's giveaway hair Maxis had that had those silly heart antennae on.

Hmm, I never even noticed that one, though I did get Sgt. Cuddles and that silly painting. I guess this all happened when I was away.

I bet that texture is in the game files too. Or maybe in the pre-release bodyshop files. All the rest of the hair textures on that sim are nothing new and I don't see Maxoid Monkey making a new toddler hair texture for a sim that's meant to be an adult anyway.

*edit: I found it. Those textures are in C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Sims3D\Sims13.package They are called puhairpuff-curls. I should be able to make that hair use the Maxis textures and thus drastically reduce that file size and remove the wasteful duplication of textures. If I can't do it then I'll beg Pinhead for help because he is the hair file master.  ;D

If the texture is in the early body shop then it should be in the game. I still have it saved so I am going to check.

I will probably enable that style for women above the adult age too. I don't know why they just did it for men at that site, I think it would be a very nice style for ethnic female sims.

I probably won't be able to get it done until Saturday or Sunday though.

I must be cursed or something. I tried FOREVER to download this freebird hair for males and females. but I keep getting cut off or corrupted downloads.

Male hair meshes:

- Simscribbling site - the best because of both quality and quantity thereof
- Insiminator (Look for Kavar's creations, and Beosboxboy has one or two)
- MTS2 (look in hair male section and filter on for meshes) Great variety, easy to find.
- The Sims Connection (but most irritatingly, a lot of the more interesting male hair meshes are donation only and not easy to find amongst all the female stuff)
- Rose sims (one or two male hair meshes, also not easy to find)
- Peggy Sims (also annoyingly, good male hair meshes are donation only, very few)
- Sims2Sister (has Compulsive D's dread hair mesh, also hard to find amongst ALL the female stuff)


- TSR - IS *HOPELESS* and has VERY FEW male hair - forget it - Seomi does GREAT hair, but she also posts on MTS2, so no point going to TSR for male hair. (That site is particularly sexist against males... they amost never have "featured" creations for male sims.)

I will note that if one wants the CompulsiveD dread meshes, SimPathetic (http://www.simpathetic.com/compulsive_d_-_dreads.htm) has the definitive collection with a couple of meshes that weren't widely released. The site is also easier to navigate. ;)

That site has got to have some of the most awesome men's hairs I've yet to see!  And to top it off, they also have my hubby's real eyebrows!  I'm so glad I found them BEFORE he croaked off in the game! LOL

Oh man, Regina, that made me laugh!!  Maybe I'd better go see if they have my hubby's eyebrows incase I ever make him a sim....
