Yes, it's here. Not only is it a gold plated flamingo, but a gold plated flamingo that costs $5505 and is classified as a game. This *should* mean that it will satisfy the "buy a hideously expensive game" want. Assuming I haven't somehow made a Truly Awful and Utterly Predictable mistake.

I'm toying with the idea of making it also (or make another version) that satisfies the fun electronics want. Because that's another class of objects that is made obsolete by the SPORT OF KINGS. Maybe a silver colored one with glowing red eyes that would want to Destroy All Humans if it ever acquired powers of motion? Robot flamingo . . .

A couple of problems: I'm not sure if it depreciates realistically. Didn't want to mess with that, and didn't consider it terribly important. If anyone is deeply offended by its weird depreciation, I can fix it. Probably. Also, it's not really useful for the Sport of Kings at the moment, because the GUID isn't picked up by the Kickinator. However, it does (strangely, and it's a side effect that I rather like) allow you to purchase a gold plated version of the regular flamingo, because the regular flamingo picks up the image as a recolor. There's not much I can do about the Kickinator thing, short of editing it myself and releasing an alternative version of macrotastics, which would be more than mildly ridiculous.

There's one problem that I do want to fix: I don't know how to alter the environment score. It seems to function differently than other needs -- it's not addressed in Carrigon's tutorial, for instance. If anyone knows how to do this, I would be deeply grateful, because I'd like to have a decorative object for outside that isn't both huge and ugly. (Or I could mess with it to allow you to keep it inside . . . I think I know what to do for that, but didn't want to mess with it for a first hack/object thing.)

At the very least, you now can purchase a nifty looking flamingo instead of a gigantic bowling alley.

You could make an alternative version witout a new GUID, so that it overwrites the original flamingo.

Overwriting = bad

Who wants their Maxian objects to be burninated? Not I :P

Overwriting for personal use is fine.  ::)
Overwriting and uploading for unsuspecting downloaders (even if there is a warning in tfm) = punisable with death.  (Read my thread about the demons haunting my game.)

Bah, I was bored this morning so here's a fixed version. It now has an appropriate environment score and will appreciate/depreciate the same as a sculpture/painting.

I would love to see more stuff in the same vein. Anyone with sense knows that expensive and desirable is not always tied to cubic volume. I'd love to see a clever modder make over some of the some smaller Maxian objects. For example, how about some rare first edition books that knowledge sims might like to own, and to leave carelessly stacked in (expensive) piles on desks and other horizontal surfaces.
