Title: Hack Request: A plastic surgery machine that changes genetics
Post by: rma on 2006 January 15, 18:53:09
Could someone please hack Dr. Vu's plastic Surgery machine to change a Sim's genetics? I don't know if this is even possible, but if anyone can do it, it's the MATY hackers. Please.

It's actually very easy to edit the genetics in sim-pe so that the plastic surgery becoomes genetic , there is  tutorial at MTS2 somewhere on how to do it.

You mean using Sim Surgery? But it would be so much easier to do in game with the Surgery Machine, and you wouldn't need to creatre a clone.

I agree, it would be awfully convenient to be able to change the DNA without exiting the game.

It would be VERY convenient, but I'm not sure it's possible.  I just did and re-did and re-did my self-sim.  I had to keep exiting, cloning, adjusting, go into CAS create my "replacement family" me, exit the game, go back to SimPE, do sim surgery and THEN go into the game to see how it all worked.  Meh.  Pain in the ass!  I'm going to look for what you're talking about Andygal, it would be nice to have fewer steps.

I do all this in a comfortable way, without dealing with "numbers", with the Enhanser.

Are you shilling for TS2E? There's a $15.95/month advertising fee for paysites per post, you know.

Lol, OK, I will pay the penalty - I didn't advertize, just showed a fact. Not everybody is as smart as More Awesome Than You. For instance, I am scared to death to use the "numbers" of the SimPe.

Since when a link to a pay site is a "sin" here? It really is a new one...:). The Sim Resource is a pay site too, and many players give a link to it.

But I'll pay willingly, if it's a new rule...:).

There! payed!  :D :D

For those who hate paysites, there's always that evil scummy thieving crack that makes Enhancer free, made by some rotten jerk who deserves to be stoned to death.

I payed for the Enhanser 20$ in 2002, and I got all the updates for free. 20$ for 4 years is 5$ per year - not so scary.

That would be nice.  But I'd settle for just an undo button.  I like to experiment a bit before I settle on a face and use the undo button in CAS and BS extensively.  I hate using the cosmetic surgery machine because the only undo button I can find in the cancel one.   :-\

I like the way JM put it before on another site that shall remain nameless:

PAYSITES ARE EVIL!!!

Not everyone can afford to shell out money left and right for stuff.  SimPE is free, and it's not so bad once you get into it.  Besides, the screenshot for the Enhanser above does not appear to do what the poster was requesting, which is to make facial structure changes using the plastic surgery award object genetic so that offspring will inherit the new facial structure (such as having a nose when none existed before, or getting rid of fish lips.)

I agree, Paysites are evil and SimPE is free and isn't that hard to use, specially when you can follow a tutorial with pictures like the one at mts2.

I certainly can't afford to pay for custom Sims 2 stuff/programs when I already have to save up the money for the EPs. At times it is reeeeeeeeeeeeeally tempting to pay for a month at a site like tsr to get some of the really nice hair I've been seeing lately but that would mean not getting that "insert current whatever" that my 12 year old daughter needs for school and she always needs something  ::)

That's pretty much why I've never been tempted to use Enhancer myself, crack or no crack. I can do a hell of a lot more with SimPE, and it's really just the principle of the thing.
