More Awesome Than You!

I'm trying to resurrect an old animated custom hair thread.  The previous thread was very informative, but mostly OT.

I'm looking for high quality custom hair that is

1) animated
2) doesn't have crappy texture or gapping holes (high quality in other words)
3) Shows in the correct bins instead of the custom hair bin.

This punkish hair (http://www.thesimsresource.com/downloads/sims2/sets/?ID=241416) is nice looking hair.  I haven't had any problems with it, although unfortunately it is a paysite hair.

This hair (http://welldressedsim.com/item.php?id=003848) (also from a paysite) is the hair I use most often.  It shows up as custom only, although some of the later hair styles on this site are in the correct color bin. 

I've been looking for that ponytail mesh for awhile, thanks for the link.

Thanks for that link Bluesoup.  That is the one paysite I subscribe to (other than MATY ahem) so it's not a problem.  It gave me the idea of searching for genetic in the hair category and I discovered a few modders who do categorize their hair.  I'll have to check the hair out.

any that are free anywhere?  I can't do the paysite thing as I don't have a credit card of my own.

Pronup sims hair shows up in the correct colours. I can't get some of the styles to show up in my game (this is probably just my incompetence, don't mind me), but the ones that do are excellent. They are all quite fancy, though which may not suit your sims.

I love pronupsims hairstyles too, but they show up in the custom bin.

The new fancy buns show up in the correct hair color bins.

They aren't animated though, but that doesn't bother me for the updo's, as there isn't much animation there anyway :)

Let's keep the suggestions coming, maybe we can come up with a best of list :)

Do you have a bank account?  If so, you should be able to get a Paypal account, and then you only pay what you actually have the cash for - no credit involved!

Some show up in the right bin (the buns mainly) but others in the custom bin.

I believe that somewhere in one of the threads on custom hair, there is an explanation of how to change this in simPE yourself.

Well, thank Motoki, it was him that put me onto them!  Those dreads with the bandanna are great in game!  Dirk wears one now!

Guppysims hair (free) shows up in the right color bins and the animation on the one or two I have is pretty good.
