Title: Help stretch skeleton Post by: simmiecal on 2006 January 01, 03:16:51 Can someone tell me how the stretch skeleton cheat should be entered?
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: ZephyrZodiac on 2006 January 01, 03:24:09 Just open the cheats menu and type help, I think, and it should be there in a list. Beware, though, I tried to use it once, and the sim I tried it on looked absolutely wierd, he was either about 90 feet tall, or a 2foot midget!
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Brynne on 2006 January 01, 03:25:28 I use it a lot! Sim Brynne is a dirty old lady!
type stretchSkeleton 1.0 into the cheat box for adult height, and stretchSkeleton 0.94 for teen. Before I posted, I typed: help help stretchskeleton neither gave me any information. Is there some other symbol I need to use or word it differently in the box? Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Brynne on 2006 January 01, 03:27:20 You are both (all?) welcome. :D
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Swiftgold on 2006 January 02, 19:59:14 Too bad it can't be applied to certain Sims permanently (as I'm sure has been mentioned many times before in many places). Not even with those startup cheats? Hmm. I guess it wouldn't know which Sim to apply the stretchskeleton to, as I'm assuming you have to have the one you want selected when you enter the cheat.
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Renatus on 2006 January 02, 20:08:16 I have a hypothesis that it may be changable permanently (for the current lifestage, anyhow) by editing the character file directly in SimPE... I noticed a line for stretchskeleton the last time I was editing a character file, and the number value for it is the same as what one would input with the cheat. However, I haven't played with it yet, so I don't know what horrible things it might do to a character or neighborhood. I really should look into that the next time I can be arsed to create an expendable neighborhood.
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Venusy on 2006 January 02, 20:11:15 Actually, it can be applied to a sim forever. But it requires a bit of SimPE editing, and I've forgotten how you do it. I remember that there's a value in the character files (somewhere), stretchData or something like that, and you just edit that to make size changes permanent.
I know it works, I have several severely deformed sims in one neighbourhood to prove it... EDIT: Is it in the Age Data (AGED) section? That's the only thing I can remember that seemed like it had something to do with this sort of thing... Will give me an excuse to remember to back up my game again... Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Renatus on 2006 January 02, 20:20:18 Aha! Thanks, Venusy, it's nice to know that it does actually work. I remember that line being pretty easy to spot and I'm fairly comfortable in SimPE, so it shouldn't be difficult to do a bit of experimenting tomorrow.

I know it works, I have several severely deformed sims in one neighbourhood to prove it... Excellent! It drives me nuts to have to enter StretchSkeleton each time I play my Freezepop sims (who use 1.02, 1.0 and 0.95 respectively - it doesn't exactly match the height differentials of the real-life people, but it was the best combination I came up with). This'll stop me having to throw away photos because I forgot to enter the cheat! Kudos to you *clicks the imaginary thank you button* :D Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Brynne on 2006 January 03, 02:14:45 I've been meaning to edit that, myself, but keep forgetting to when I shut my game down. I have several teens who are older, but not quite ready for YA status in my story, so I've been stretching them every time I enter the lot.
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Swiftgold on 2006 January 03, 20:00:04 Done, and it works perfectly. The odds with the animation is no worse than what I've gotten used to in an adult-teen relationship, and it looks so much more real now to have varied heights.
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Baa on 2006 January 03, 20:16:02 Thank you, this is real great. Can't wait to use it once I have TS2 installed.
Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: dewshine on 2006 January 03, 20:57:15 Oh, yeah!... now I can make sim me short like she should be! LOL
I wondered if it was possible, and I do remember seeing the location in the sim files. Title: Re: Help stretch skeleton Post by: Brynne on 2006 January 04, 00:54:44 I may adjust the heights of some of my adult sims, now. I'm on the tallish side in real life (5'7 1/2), and it bugs me that all my male sims are my height.
