Title: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: mistymage on 2005 December 23, 04:31:13 Where do you buy the "$2,000 game" etc games from? IIRC buying a pinball machine doesn't satisfy that want.. nor does buying the video games.
Sugar @@@s to the first person who answers with a (valid) answer ;D Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: cwhitney on 2005 December 23, 04:59:02 Where do you buy the "$2,000 game" etc games from? IIRC buying a pinball machine doesn't satisfy that want.. nor does buying the video games. You have to go into the games queue instead of the electronics queue. It's the same menu where you buy a chess board. Kind of annoying when you get the $3000 game want, because the only thing that satisfies that is the $5500 bowling alley. (Although when you get the $3000 and $5000 game wants, the bowling alley fulfills both. Too bad there's rarely ever a non-ridiculous place on a lot to put it. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: mistymage on 2005 December 23, 05:58:27 Thank you! I really don't want a bowling alley in my sims' house.. bad enough in real life having 2 pinball machines in my kitchen! Thankfully there isn't room for the shuffle bowl.. but it will fit in our new house so now I'll have one more thing to walk into (I'm very clumsy).

I have it in my game, and no residental lot will ever get a bowling alley again. Although I did put one in a family mausoleum once...how can the dead R.I.P with people bowling right next to them?

Thankfully there isn't room for the shuffle bowl.. but it will fit in our new house so now I'll have one more thing to walk into (I'm very clumsy). ~misty Why? I have in each sim house a bowling alley, card table, and pool table. The sims like them very much. I put all of them in the yard. The bowling alley is good to gain body tranining points, and even prenant females can play it too. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Emma on 2005 December 23, 13:30:29 Here is the link for the expensive dartboard (http://modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=110130)
I never have bowling allleys in my sims houses, cos they take up too much room! I can't stand stuff littered about in the yard-I make fairly big garages and put all the aspiration and career rewards, and assorted other junk that my fortune sims want, but I don't want to put them in my houses. I can't stand basements-they are too hard to navigate. This dartboard is great though :) I usually have a games room with the board and pool table. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: gali on 2005 December 23, 13:41:14 If you always buy 5x5 lot, there is plenty of space for everything.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Emma on 2005 December 23, 13:44:15 5x5 is too big for my poor little computer :( The biggest I ever go is 4x3...I like sending my simmies off to the bowling alley! I have one in my neighbourhood I made myself.
The only 'residential' lot I have the alley on is my greek house. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: gali on 2005 December 23, 13:59:45 Here is 4x3 lot, with the bowling alley and pool table. Two rooms, options to build a second story too.

Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: gali on 2005 December 23, 14:05:07 Stuck??? Emma, they are very very happy with this construction...:). I build it mostly for students and elder couples. Except at the Dart Board, I never saw the sims whinning about the rest game objects...:).
Edit: Forgot to notice - the Environment rate is FULL GREEN at this yard. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: veilchen on 2005 December 23, 15:42:17 Aside from that, just like in sim-land, it don't rain in Israel ;D
Just kidding, as Ephraim Kishon so fittingly put it: "I can make it rain in Tel Aviv, all we have to do is hang the laundry out to dry." Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? LOL, true! Each time I hang a laundry to dry - the rain comes...:). This year all the weather is upside down! Hot, no rain, no nothing - and we are in December! In the Internet I read that the almond trees, which bloom usually in March, began to bloom in December - even they are confused...:). Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 December 24, 08:55:59 I practically never bother buying all this useless junk anymore. Why bother with pool tables and bowling alleys? One interaction ultimately proves itself as the superior source of fun (sims have no variety in this regard and never develop individualized preferences), and that interaction, at the moment, is the SPORT OF KINGS. Who'd have thought that a lowly $12 flamingo could blow away every single fun object in the game....

Post by: skandelouslala on 2005 December 24, 10:09:38 How can you stand to have items just stuck in the yard like that? :D I need to have 'rooms' for everything. Hehe I am the same way. I used to just stick things outside but couldn't tolerate it. Now my sims (especially fortune sims) get a lot of add on rooms to their house so I can fit everything. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: blubug on 2005 December 25, 10:36:18 I make houses with foundations for unused basements, don't even add stairs or anything, just a big room and stick all the ghastly wanted objects there and sell them after a few days so they don't get upset when I sell them right away. Why keep a bowling alley for use if the guitar just adds hours of fun to the sim while the bowling alley just makes my sims stop playing after 3 turns :D Totally useless at home I think.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: gali on 2005 December 25, 10:49:31 Bowling alleys add body points.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: blubug on 2005 December 28, 16:38:46 I know, but my adult sims just roll the ball 2-3 times and stop, I have to make them do it again. Same goes in the downtown area, but I think it's when somebody tries to join the game and changes his/her mind.
And I got one of my kids to the highest body point in 2 days of nearly nonstop play before his birthday, but he was still fat when he grew up, does it just add body points and not affect the body shape because he's a child? Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Lythdan on 2005 December 28, 23:32:00 Bowling doesn't seem to affect fitness.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Brynne on 2005 December 28, 23:36:06 One of my teens rolled the stupid expensive game want. I bought him a bowling alley, but it stays in his inventory. Even though I have room for it, it doesn't exactly match the decor...
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: BlueSoup on 2005 December 29, 00:24:17 One time I bought them the bowling alley, but I had no room for it anywhere, so I stuck it on the lawn next to the house. They played it for awhile (actually, wouldn't ever leave the damn thing alone is more like it...much like Myshuno which I won't buy them anymore), and then I sold it. My Sims tend to have too much money after a couple of generations anyway, so I generally don't mind the depreciation.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Lythdan on 2005 December 29, 00:49:23 A few of my older houses have bowling alleys. I stuck a whole room on the back, complete with bar.

Who'd have thought that a lowly $12 flamingo could blow away every single fun object in the game.... I always just have flamingos too, but you are missing the point. The sims pull up wants to buy this stuff. That's the only reason to buy them. We need someone to clone the flamingo and make it into a bush or something. Nice, pretty yards look stupid with flamingos in them. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2005 December 29, 17:50:12 Maybe we need a really EXPENSIVE flamingo. Like a gold-plated flamingo-game-thing. Perhaps one that never jams or falls over. The Flamingo of Kings.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: nectere on 2005 December 29, 18:00:22 Maybe?
That would be officially awesome! Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Gwill on 2005 December 29, 23:52:25 My bowling alley killed my vampire.
I stuck it outside, next to the garage, and whenever she returned from work she'd rather bowl than go sleep in her coffin. I can't stand having bowling allerys on residential lots. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: cheriem on 2005 December 30, 00:26:05 You can get an expensive dart board on MTS 2 as well as an expensive boom box.
Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: idtaminger on 2005 December 30, 04:27:34 Interesting configuration...lol.
I'm beyond anal when it comes to my sim residences. My sims (the rich ones at least) always live in highly stylized residences, and b/c additions in most cases ruin the "look" of the house, I rarely add them. When my sims need to trade up, I move them. My sims get schlepped around quite a bit. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Ad my simshave a lot of furniture scattered around the lawn. Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Yay on 2005 December 30, 05:02:40 Oh, I'm quite the opposite. It gets awfully cluttered after a while. :o Title: Re: Expensive games wants.. where to get'em? Post by: Lythdan on 2005 December 30, 05:08:53 I just do it 'cuz I'm lazy.
