Title: Re: Collections Post by: Nienor on 2014 September 13, 18:05:05 I only got some few, always identical plants from the seed packets - nothing rare, and everything was to be found in the landscape somewhere. I've given up on gardening for now, though, because of the bugs. Pity, when I first tried the gardening, I quite liked it. In Sims 3 too I always felt an urge to garden. This one really needs a "fertilise all with best fertiliser" option though, as well as something to do with flowers besides fertilising.
I have a few more items (had one Sim with almost full collections, but of course he got borked). On place six, counting from left to right, in my collection there is currently a Sunsurfer frog. Second row of metals, third slot: Simtanium, fifth: Phozonite, sixth: Plathinum. Third row, third slot: Heavy Metal, fourth: Obtanium. Bottom row, first slot: Baconium. Title: Re: Collections Post by: Tia on 2014 September 14, 03:06:23 What do the my sims statues do anyways? My sim dug one up but I have no idea what the point of it is.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Madame Mim on 2014 September 14, 03:49:07 Apart from being a 'collection'? They are mood generators - you can place them in a room to boost the playful of the Sims there.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: cwurts on 2014 September 14, 15:35:42 Collecting is an atrocity. It enforces first person gameplay, which goes against everything the game stands for.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Zazazu on 2014 September 15, 00:14:12 first person gameplay You keep using that word. I dunna think it means what you think it means.Title: Re: Collections Post by: BlueSoup on 2014 September 15, 15:33:51 Pomegranate is the first on the left in the second row, not trash fruit. But a lot of yours seem to be in a different place than to mine.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Madame Mim on 2014 September 15, 20:38:58 They move every time you open the collections guide. It is possible to close and open it and return to the pattern previously experienced - which is what I do when I want to update a collections contents.
Where'd you get the pomegranate? Title: Re: Collections Post by: BlueSoup on 2014 September 16, 01:11:59 They move every time you open the collections guide. It is possible to close and open it and return to the pattern previously experienced - which is what I do when I want to update a collections contents. Where'd you get the pomegranate? I got it fishing in the fishing pond in Sylvan Glade. EDIT: And in fish, there's a Rainbowfish, trout and a Batfish. Title: Re: Collections Post by: saieden on 2014 September 16, 18:19:31 Not sure about the order or anything but I have gotten plantain (seed packet), pomegranate (fishing - possibly also cherry+apple broken grafting), Cow Plant (rocket adventure or fishing - also possibly Dragonfruit+Snapdragon), Unidentified Fruit Object/UFO (rocket adventure).
I have also heard of, but have gotten neither Dragonfruit (broken grafting - supposedly Daisy+Strawberry) or Orchid (I have no idea how you get this one, have heard it's a reward for completing space rock collection but I haven't gotten around to it yet) Title: Re: Collections Post by: Zazazu on 2014 September 16, 18:47:01 pomegranate (fishing - possibly also cherry+apple broken grafting) There is a pomegranate plant on common land in Willow Creek. I don't recall where. Will see if I can locate tonight. My family has two pomegranate trees and they don't really fish and haven't bought seed packets. Gardening/collecting isn't something I've been focused on. I just picked some ripe ones and planted a couple on a whim.EDIT: Can't find it. Maybe I got it from rummaging in the trash instead? Or ordering online. Title: Re: Collections Post by: Ryslin on 2014 September 16, 20:10:07 I am sure you guys are enjoying finding most of this, but it might be helpful to eyeball carl sims as well. They did find a bunch of the plants and what not already (in list).
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Madame Mim on 2014 September 16, 20:43:19 Carls Sims is why I started this. Apart from the plants it had no information on collections.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Budgie on 2014 September 16, 22:32:49 postcards so far: Dragon Valley, blank, blank, blank, blank, Champs Les Sims blank, blank, Moonlight Falls, Appaloosa Plains, Little Haven, Riverview Bridgeport, Twinbrook These are inspiring decor: 3 Where do you get the post cards? Title: Re: Collections Post by: kimmyfrmtx on 2014 September 17, 00:13:12 On the computer select socialize, find pen pal. Keep checking back until you get a reply then write them a letter. Check back later and the "request a postcard" will be available. It will show up in the mail the next time the mail runs. I have been immediately requesting a new pen pal to keep it going.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Painkiller on 2014 September 17, 12:11:09 I found a postcard in my neighbor's trash bin too, way faster than all the request pen pals that take a day or two.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: kimmyfrmtx on 2014 September 17, 19:05:19 Added Sunset Valley to post cards.
Found an alien, Live Space Squid. First row, first column. Space Print: first column, last row - Seeing Red Title: Re: Collections Post by: LVRugger on 2014 September 18, 07:26:24 Here is a link to a post by Kresh at Carl's forum who deciphered all of the frog types and how to breed them.

Here I was just sitting them on desks using them as decor and something for the sims to waste time procrastinating looking at while they are doing something else.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Painkiller on 2014 September 19, 13:28:58 It's not as awesome as you think. You just have 2 frogs in your inventory, click 'Breed' on one of them, choose the second frog and Bam! a third frog appears in your inventory. Nothing more.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: Madame Mim on 2014 September 19, 21:31:07 You have to reach a certain level of something before that happens. I remember my collecting Sim getting notification that she could now breed frogs.
Title: Re: Collections Post by: spiritseer on 2015 March 03, 13:17:56 Alot of people are experiencing problems with collecting because after playing for awhile the stuff doesn't spawn anymore in the other neighbourhoods, just another thing that is broken in this bitched up game!
