My game will not play because Awesome mod 1.50 expired on 29 June. It says I need to down load the latest update. I did that, but the latest gives the same message. Am I missing something here?

Yes, you are. The game is now at 1.55. You need to either grab the test version of AM or stop using AM until a final 1.55 version is out.

Usually in these circumstances the old version of AM usually gets a make-over to add a couple of weeks to the life cycle, especially while the newer version is still in Test mode.  Given the problems deciphering which issues are PEBCAK (being caused by the use of old/out of date mods) and genuine bugs/glitches from EAxis, many people are probably holding back on updating for the time being until things settle down and become clearer.

If you have to ask you're not ready for the test version.

Do I have to go through some obscure More Awesome Than You initiation to get access to the test version?

No, you just need to lurk and explore more.
Also, be willing to have your save possibly ruined and not care about that fact.

I understand that version 1.55 is out. I know how to update the EA release; I have Island Paradise sitting on my desk. I do not update EA or install the expansion pack until The new Awesome Mod is released. In the past, the god or Awesomeness, J.M. Pescado, has extended the old version of Awesome Mod to bridge the period between the EA update and the updated Awesome Mod.
