Title: best way to prune custom hair packages?
Post by: jennydeenyc on 2005 December 06, 20:56:47
I've recently started using the Clothing Tool (love it! love it! love it!) to better outfit my sims whenever they make an age transition. I've also recently recategorized many of my custom hairstyles into their appropriate color bins using DatGen (a few issues with that,  but still altogether a worthwhile effort). Now I'm discovering how many custom hairstyles include textures for toddlers and children that are just replicas of one another. I'd really love to get rid of the toddler & child hair data if it is not distinctive enough to need it's own entry. I'm sure this can be accomplished with SimPE or other such tools, but I'm a little wary of attempting such pruning without specific instructions. Can anyone here point me in the right direction for this info?

Thanks in advance...

I hope somebody can, because I was trying last night to find out how to do this.

I know for a fact I've seen it outlined very recently, but can't recall where.

I can't find the link at the moment, but there's def. a post that tells you how to prune the unnecessary age data. Basically, under the age lines in property set, you replace what ever value there w/ a zero value. So 0x00004 gets changed to 0x00000, and so on for all the ages you don't want.

I used this tutorial to get rid of them after reading that it was ok. Deleting is goooood.

I need pictures the first time I do ANYTHING in SimPe.  ;D
