Title: Supernatural Bugs Post by: Rubyelf on 2012 September 20, 10:40:24 Well so far I've only discovered one very disturbing bug to this game, and here is a screenshot of it:
(http://i.imgur.com/WNNf7.png) That is a picture of my cat which followed my sim into her secret room, when it used the door it's body completely deformed. After the kitty proceeded to have a couple of routing issues before it finally managed to "open" the door, it didn't actually do that, it proceeded to walk through the door, literally. If the cat exits through the other side of the door, there are no issues at all. (http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lwr1pzHlO11qm8x9g.png) I realise this, I was pointing out that it's happening on a new item, and was also bringing to attention the OTHER bug (routing issue) involved in it, and the possibility that someone may invent a 'fix' to this. Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: jezzer on 2012 September 21, 12:26:26 I've noticed that the new rabbitholes are, once again, not compatible with rabbithole-specific opportunities. I checked the bug thread on the BBS. This is a Known Issue, and they recommend deleting the multi-rabbitholes and replacing them with the original singles. Good to know EA learned its lesson with Late Night.
Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: Cheese Fiend on 2012 September 21, 12:39:43 My sim tried the 'sweeten up' interaction to add honey to a birthday cake and it bounced her across the room. Anyone else come across this? Wondering if it's a bug or just specific to my game

Part of me really wants to believe that's not what EA said to fix the problem but I know otherwise. :( Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: BlueSoup on 2012 September 21, 18:28:34 Fairies sink into the floor until you change them into a different outfit; all you can see of them is their wings. I noticed it when I loaded a saved game, and then when my Sim was around town I noticed it on a random fairy Sim.
Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: witch on 2012 September 21, 18:48:27 My fairy doesn't have wings. :'(
Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 September 22, 01:33:19 Given that wings appear to be *sparkle* motion - have you got an old no blur mod in your game Witch?
Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: witch on 2012 September 22, 06:31:04 Given that wings appear to be *sparkle* motion - have you got an old no blur mod in your game Witch? Why yes, as a matter of fact. I'll follow that up. I use a 'no mosaic' mod 'cos AM leaves the blur when they're on the toilet and I find it really distracting. ETA: Updated velocitygrass' no mosaic mod and fairy has her wings. I suppose that means I have sparkly vamps in the sun too. I tried with just AM loaded and whether I have 'no sparkle motion' enabled or not, it doesn't affect the fairy wings. Is there any relevance to the colour of the fairy glow? Mine is currently deep red. In one of the testing loads, the fairy walked past the garden patch and turned into a zombie, is that normal? The cure potion from the witch fixed it, but it was new moon and I thought sims only changed into zombies from being attacked on the full moon. Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: virgali on 2012 September 22, 07:38:44 If you saved your game during a full moon you're screwed. It's a known that glitch that causes zombies to spawn left and right even when it's not a full moon. There's not really a way to fix it. You can consider that save FUBAR and start over with a new save. Be sure not to save during a full moon.

If so, it might very well be that that fairy decided on its own to attack it. When this happens every Sim turns into a zombie voluntarily to do this.Fairies sink into the floor until you change them into a different outfit; all you can see of them is their wings. I noticed it when I loaded a saved game, and then when my Sim was around town I noticed it on a random fairy Sim. It's not only fairies, all Sims are now likely to sink underground. So far I have only seen this with homeless Sims that are Showtime performers and are out performing for tips. Might be related to that homeless Sims are also those that are supposed to become those zombies that rise from the ground randomly during a fulll moon.Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: akmpe on 2012 September 22, 08:43:00 -snip- Is there any relevance to the colour of the fairy glow? If by "colour of the fairy glow" you mean the aura, I'm pretty sure each aura has its own specific colour. Soothing is blue, creativity is green, body and mind is red, and I don't know if there are any more auras because I haven't bothered with fairies much beyond that. If you mean the wings, they can be any colour you choose in CAS, but I think it's randomized when a sim becomes a fairy/when the game spawns a fairy. As for the zombie fairy, I'm not sure whether it was an active sim or not, but I believe the process that the game goes through during a full moon includes not only spawning homeless zombies but also transforming up to three sims in town into zombies "temporarily." I'm not sure EA really knows the difference between "temporary" and "permanent." I wouldn't imagine this would affect the active household, though. Also, I don't think the "Zombie Attack" action or whatever actually does anything to spread any sort of zombie curse or disease. I think it's just an annoyance. I'm using sloppyhousewife's zombie mod and so far haven't had another zombie appear on the active lot. Bar the afore-mentioned sim.Do you have the peashooter on that lot? Yes, she was walking directly toward the peashooter when it happened. Yep, aura.Quote Also, I don't think the "Zombie Attack" action or whatever actually does anything to spread any sort of zombie curse or disease. I think it's just an annoyance. Oh that's a ripoff!Title: Re: Supernatural Bugs Post by: morriganrant on 2012 September 22, 20:28:57 If you saved your game during a full moon you're screwed. Although using the debug option may have contributed to one of the zombies turning back to normal on my lawn, then dieing a few sim minutes later. Not really sure on that one. Did sims always consider it to be "meeting a sim" when they were just in the same room or passed within a few feet of the other sim? I had a sim witch fulfill the "meet a new sim" want by just walking near the fairy. Never actually interacted with her. How about shy sims? Do they get the "shy from being around non-friends" moodlet when non friends are on the lot, or in the same room? If it's on the lot then that's fucking stupid, if it's in the same room, then my sim is somehow getting the moodlet from being around minor pets, and that is also fucking stupid. This save might be fucked up though, I'm not sure, the entire household has the family Hawk in their friends list. It's been so damn long since I've played without AM or actually played instead of build houses, that I have honestly forgotten what is normal. |
