Title: Patched, then most saves don't load. Post by: PA on 2012 August 09, 04:01:54 After having patched from 1.33 to 1.36, most of my saves report a serious error occurring when I try to load them. All of them worked previously, and some of the saves that are no longer working are saves that I have downloaded from elsewhere.
I've tried loading them with AM, without, with mods, without, doesn't seem to matter. This is an instance of an error that Error Trap catches in some of them: Code: Name: Dean Jarvis Any ideas? Title: Re: Patched, then most saves don't load. Post by: PA on 2012 August 09, 07:09:09 I was prepared to say no, but...I just got into one of them after successfully starting a new game, playing for a few minutes, saving it, and trying to load one of the other saves that previously refused to load.
Don't know if voodoo is the right word for that, but it sure feels like it. Title: Re: Patched, then most saves don't load. When you receive that prompt, it is best to exit the application, wait a couple of minutes, and then attempt to restart the game. The reasons for receiving this message are unknown, though it appears to involve an startup error in the game-engine itself, and therefore cannot be resolved via mods. If the issue continues to occur, and does not allow you to load the game *at all*, you may need to revert to an earlier save, or possibly reinstall the game from scratch. ModTheSims has a write up available here : http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:A_Serious_Error_Has_Occurred (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:A_Serious_Error_Has_Occurred) - tnwahine suggests: Try logging out of Windows, or restarting your computer Doing so may unlock whatever process is interfering with the proper start up of the game. You should try loading the game as the first thing you do after logging back in. I'd suggest reading the link to MTS. This used to happen to me all the time as well. Unlocker saved the day. |
