Title: Is Anyone Using Process Monitor Now? Post by: daisylee on 2012 May 13, 22:13:21 I used it in the past with no problems and now no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I have read the few threads and the help section at MTS but the information is all a bit old now. Something must have changed.
Can you use it now to check the packages you have and if so what settings are you using in the filter? All help will be appreciated as I really want to get it working again. I have all EPs and SPs. This is what I have. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.110622-1506) I do not think I could get it to work on my laptop last time I tried either which has Vista. It used to work on the laptop as I bought it before Sims 3 came out and I used it to weed out items when we had the lemoncandy/others blue lots issue fiasco. But I am sure I tried on it about 6 months ago before I got this desktop and it would no longer work there. So a MS update must have messed up that too. I wonder if I can get an older version of Process Monitor that will work or if no it seems like PM needs to update to work with 64 bit? Title: Re: Is Anyone Using Process Monitor Now? My settings, let me show you them. Version 2.93 Process Name Contains = TS3W.exe = include Event Class = Profiling = exclude Not that I'm sure it's necessary to exclude the Profiling, but I do. I set the filter as you have it, and it worked. Thank you! Edit: I could tell my game was running poorly. Just found 12 bad items so far. I am so happy to have this working again with your help. Post by: Insanity Prelude on 2012 June 04, 02:59:44 I'm on Vista 32-bit (yes I know, but it's what the computer came with and once I got used to it I never bothered to upgrade.) I can't run Process Monitor either- the whole computer locks up tight. I haven't noticed any unusual slowdowns, and things come up clean on Delphy's Dashboard, but is there an alternative to check for bad files anyway?
