Title: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 January 21, 23:56:16 Unoccupied Sims 1 for Sims 3
http://www.4shared.com/rar/4QZjuMEr/testMesims3.html and some photo's at http://merlinsnemesis.tripod.com/sims1forsims3/ This is stage one and it's a save file not a world per se. I have no skill with the world creator so I've appropriated somebody elses Sims 1 world and revamped it to my purposes. I made most, if not all, of the actual Sims 1 buildings but have left a large no of Nutmegger's other buildings as is. I believe I have basic structure, all expansion pack sites. What I have left to do in this unpopulated version is decide where and what spawners need adding, decorate a couple of houses and I need some people to check authenticity, laundry accountability - well, everything. So, constructive critisism please. Shopping List - I believe bolded things are neccessary and the rest suggestions. If you use Awesome mod then the actual Sims 1 houses are 'sacred' http://www.4shared.com/rar/U2-D6LZk/PV_pop_noAwesomesims3.html otherwise this version is also non-Awesome compatible. Requires all of the above plus the below items of clothing and hair (for an unspecified level of 'requires'). 'alive' and 'dead' flavours' should be self evident. Skip Broke, Darleen Dreamer and Michael Bachelor could be alive or dead - your choice. Anybody who wants a specific one of the S2 dead to be alive is advised to get the alive version and arrange their own pick and mix murder scheme. Requirements as above. Any other objects I may have used in it's creation are un-necessary (I hope - let me know if anything does look wierd) and warnings of missing objects should be ignored. Houses for Sims 2 lots were downloaded from MTS http://www.modthesims.info/member.php?u=3044163 and were created by Elias943. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: friendlyquark on 2012 February 18, 19:03:03 Downloading now and will spend the weekend testing it for you. Anything in particular you are concerned about besides the laundry?
Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: DCNBrett on 2012 February 19, 06:49:34 Madam Mim, have you adjusted the insanely high beautiful vista buffs that CT Nutmegger gave most of the lots? I stopped using this world because a beautiful vista buff of +100 just seemed cheaty to me.
Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 February 19, 21:31:42 Anything that I've recreated doesn't have any vista buffs (almost all her lot sizes were wrong) because I don't know how to add them - I'll have to add learning how to do them to my list so I can put them back (where appropriate).
Apologies on no update for a while - I have no sims atm due to needing to redown the discs so I can reinstall post registry failure. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: LuxLisbon on 2012 February 20, 21:09:13 I've played that neighborhood before and I would definitely be interested in playing a better version.
Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 April 02, 09:55:29 It's my thread and I'll resurrect it if I want to.
I know it's taken me absolutely ages to get to the next stage. I'd like to blame all the people who didn't get back to me - but even if they had I wouldn't have been able to update before now. The populated version is loading now (for Awesome mod) and (when I can remember how to deactivate Awesome mod) I'll upload a sans Awesome version too. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Aurora on 2012 May 27, 13:20:30 I'm creating a SimCity and Magic Town - neighborhoods from TS1 with lots & famielies. Some photos here (http://pl.tinypic.com/a/2p1s3/2) and here (http://pl.tinypic.com/a/2p1s0/2). I'll give link to download both cities in July/August.
Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: LuxLisbon on 2012 August 21, 00:07:41 I'm trying out the hood now. Any chance of fixing the downtown area? It's a cluster. All the sidewalks make it impossible to find lots that fit.
And it seems most of the community lots aren't where they should be. I'm not sure what all you are planning to do with the town or if you are planning to do anything else to it. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 August 21, 07:49:36 If you want to talk structure of the original landscape you'll have to take it up with the creator.
I'd be very interested in your views on location of Sims 1 buildings however. I placed them within the constraints of the landscape as seemed best to me, but a second viewpoint on better positioning is not to be sniffed at. I'm still trying to be brave enough to try and open the landscape and see if I can even figure out how to repath it because the original has some serious flow problems. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: LuxLisbon on 2012 August 21, 17:21:42 It's a hot mess that's for sure. I'm really glad someone took the time to build it but it's like they said "Fuck it" half way through.
I was trying to move my sims into the hood and place some better sims 1 lots I found but the downtown area is so cluttered it was impossible. Lots don't seem to fit. They look like they will but then I get the little pop up that says they can't be placed on other lots or roads. I feel like the balance is off. The neighborhood side is so spacious while the downtown is so full. If I had the know how I'd love to make it myself. Or at least be more help. *eta. When I try to extract the file for those with awesome mod I get this error. ! "C:\Users\terry\Downloads\PV_pop_awesome.sims3.rar: CRC failed in PV_pop_awesome.sims3\Simsville_0x00000000.nhd. The file is corrupt" Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 August 21, 22:28:01 For the moment just use the non-Awesome version and I'll look into the other one.
As to the hood balance, the suburban area fills up a bit when I go to add the Sims 2 buildings. That versions nearly finished. I'm just waiting for the right time for Brandi Broke to have Beau and conceive the bump. I'll offer that version of the hood in alive and dead flavours for the Dreamer/Broke/Goth families. A word of warning on traffic flow. If you do chose to use my consignment shop those spiral stairs just don't seem to work there. The sims 2 version will have straight stairs. Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: LuxLisbon on 2012 August 23, 19:04:41 I like the additions you made. I also like the placement of the lots as well.
Is there anything particular you want me to try out? Title: Re: Sims 1 for Sims 3 - testers wanted Post by: Madame Mim on 2012 August 23, 22:32:03 Just anything you see that's wrong, lacking or pissing you off. I need people to see what I haven't. Suggestions on collectable sites would be nice if your Sims are collectors and/or any lacking collectables that you think should be in the hood.
Other traffic warning. Those bridges can trap people. My sister tells me it's a function of the bridges that were used in the original creation so it needs to wait for me to be brave enough to try actual hood modification before that'll be fixed.
