I think elders living in the bathroom is realistic. Reality isn't everything. I'd actually like to see something that makes their needs decay more slowly, but still accelerated from adults. The most annoying thing about elders in this game is that they wake up at all hours of the night and disrupt any kind of ryhthm you may have.

It's great, I even forgot how they had the annoying habit of waking up at 2 a.m. and ready to start their day.
