Title: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 04, 07:54:59 I've been without an internet connection for the past few weeks, so my previous AwesomeMod has expired. I updated the game to the most recent versions (if important, the expansions I have installed currently are LN and WA) and tried the game again, but it wouldn't load at all on the first loadinng screen. After uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I tried to run the game with AM again. This time I was about to choose a neighbourhood, but the loading would stop with a very small portion of the loading bar unfilled. I don't think there's a framework issue, as every other mod still works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could try next? If I need to provide more information, please let me know.
Also, on a side note, after updating the game to the current versions, all rabbit holes are inaccessable, all sims are jobless, and all career histories are gone. Is this just another typical EA screw-up? Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2011 August 04, 08:09:19 No, I am pretty sure you are doing it wrong.
Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 04, 19:49:48 Do you have any sugestions on what I could be doing wrong? I've followed SJActress's instructions on coconnor's thread for installing the framework, and it looks like the setup Simius has in the pictures they provided.

Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 04, 20:25:15 Would you be able to tell me how I could fix any patching errors?

Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Jeebus on 2011 August 04, 20:47:10 The launcher tells me that the game is fully up to date, though. Yes, but the launcher is an evil liar.Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: jezzer on 2011 August 04, 20:48:33 Try the Game Patcher program at Mod the Sims. It's much more reliable than the launcher for patching.
Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 04, 21:24:28 I downloaded the game patcher, but it found no new updates to be installed. I also looked through the forum on MTS for solutions, including temporarily removing the CC and deleting the caches, but nothing has worked so far. It gets to the same point every time, and only when AwesomeMod is included in the CC.

It's the full 1.24 patch, you might have missed something in between. If reinstalling becomes necessary, you'll have it on hand instead of having to wait for the launcher to download everything again. Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 04, 21:45:18 Hm, still nothing...
I guess I'll just have to go without AM for now. I don't understand why it won't work, though... Everything seems to be in place properly, and I've tried several means of resolving the issue. Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2011 August 05, 00:50:13 Freezing on the loading screen is Framework Fail. Disappearing Rabbit Holes and careers is "Don't use someone else's crappy career mod with AwesomeMod, this causes a conflict".
Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: ZelRai on 2011 August 05, 01:08:24 How would framework fail be a factor? EA has made adding mod packages into a literal drag and drop procedure.
Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Jeebus on 2011 August 05, 01:09:19 How would framework fail be a factor? EA has made adding mod packages into a literal drag and drop procedure. You still need to have the framework SET UP CORRECTLY, you STUPID FURRY.Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: ZelRai on 2011 August 05, 01:14:57 Really? Seems like the only "setup" I had to do was to install and update TS3. In the past I had to actually put the modified DLL and resource.cfg file in.

Furrtard fails to see that some people are in fact that fucking stupid. You still need the resource file though. Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 05, 02:38:56 Again, I don't see why framework is an issue as every other modification I've tried with it still works.
I've resolved the rabbit hole issue though. Title: Re: AwesomeMod Issues Post by: Dialgan on 2011 August 05, 03:46:01 Hm.
I got Generations today and installed it, and it works now... |
