Title: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: lindaetterlee on 2005 November 27, 16:15:18 Those who visit MTS2 might have noticed that Metroid Menace has made a snow hood terrain that replaces the grass terrain. I wanted to keep my grassy hoods so I made a dirt version that only works with nightlife. This replaces the dirt HOOD terrain in the game. If you are looking for something like this check it out at http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=870593#post870593 (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?p=870593#post870593).

Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: witch on 2005 November 27, 20:05:45 Oh be wary, be very wary with ground terrains / ground covers / ground paints / whatever you want to call them. I have found them to be deeply buggy in sims 2.
If you use them, don't ever try deleting them or you may find lots that won't load and will crash your game trying to do so. Doom, doom, doom Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: lindaetterlee on 2005 November 27, 20:18:13 This is actually overridding the hood textures. very safe. when the file is removed it is like it was never on the hood.
Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: Ilikecoffee on 2005 November 27, 20:25:51 Thanks for this. I went to MTS2 prior to coming here today specifically looking for snow terrains for the neighborhood. It looks great. I love it when someone anticipates my needs.
Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: LK on 2005 November 27, 20:28:21 I don't use ground covers that much, but I'm going to download this anyway.

OH. OK :) Might even try it myself in a different sims 2 folder. Thanks Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: sabra on 2005 November 27, 23:09:28 Thank you Linda, though I don't have the courage to try it yet.
Witch, uh oh, I just downloaded an entire set of terrain paints. What exactly will happen if I use them? Should I delete them prophylactically? I am am extreme wuss. :-\ Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: BlueSoup on 2005 November 28, 00:40:58 When using terrain paints, what will happen if you delete them is a tendency to crash a lot, either while loading or if trying to package the lot.
Even if you restore the paint, the lot is still forever buggy. Title: Re: new Hood Snow terrain Post by: Pegasys on 2005 November 28, 01:43:05 Now all we need is snow-covered roofs....
