More Awesome Than You!

Now that there's enough CC floating around for TS3, I think MATY is a viable option again for showcasing the worst the community has to offer. Something that seems particularly shit is the caliber of some of the patterns that are getting made - thanks to programs like the Create A Pattern tool, any old tard can churn them out and some of them are utterly horrific.

Pretty much any "licensed" pattern is going to be horrible, because people don't think to do something clever or use an actual existing pattern- they just slap an image down and call it a day.

There seem to be many fuck-ups, as far as textures go. This person doesn't seem to enable recoloring, so they have a few different types of this pattern.

...I have no idea WTF this is actually supposed to be, but the title assured me that Rock 'n Roll is involved. Either way, the person who made this is awful and should feel awful for having made it. That is the worst preview image ever.

The red splashes are very unfortunately placed on the crotch and buttcrack!  :D

Is the thread only open to patterns?  Because I've seen some pretty godawful Custom Sims on MTS.

BTW, I'm quite pleased that this treasured pastime is back. Admittedly, the TS3 patterns aren't nearly as bad as some of the TS2 wallpaper. Like the pepperoni one in the old "More Awful"... :(

Why would a floor/carpet have pictures/decals on it? It just.... doesn't make sense.

If that was actually made by a 6 or early 12, it's not that bad.  It's pretty damn good, compared to the other patterns I've seen in this thread.  I could see using that in a nursery after muting the background color.

Cwurts, I don't think you're the best one to judge aesthetics.  Anyone who has posted 39 skintones, all in jaundice-like yellow, is clearly weak in the vision department.  To add to what has been said, that pattern looks really flat- for something that over-realistic, it would have been good to create some illusion of depth.
Since it's within 5 weeks of Christmas and thus officially the "Holiday Season," how about some hideously tacky Christmas patterns?

I'm sure the colors could be chosen arbitrarily and as such, the eye-searingness is mainly an artifact of what colors were chosen as demonstration: In all fairness, a certain amount of high-contrast is necessary in demonstrating a recolorable pattern, to denote the recolorable areas. Perhaps it is not so bad when the colors are chosen for less garishness.

The blue and white snowflake pattern is nice. The rest are eyeblinding shit.

I think they got those patterns from flannel bedsheets.  I own some that are similar, only they're all in soft, subdued blues, grays, purples and whites, not eye-scorching primary colors, and they're quite nice.  I definitely wouldn't put those patterns on walls or floors, though.

Oh god damn. I wasn't expecting those eye burners. I scrolled down and I could still see the patterns on forum's white background.

I'm not sure what is worse - the patterns or the fact that ambular owns them fo real reals.

Trust me, they're much more appealing printed on nice soft flannel in nice soft colors.  (That said, I do prefer solid colors, but just try finding them in flannel that doesn't cost a mint.)

Actually, I'd be rather pleased if she DID manage to improve on my hair conversions.  I've never been that happy with them (the Jeanette style particularly) and I keep hoping somebody else will give them a try.
