I only have TS2.. TS3 did not appeal to me at all.  My new PC could handle prolly 3 full installations of that.. but I like what I have.  And am happy it actually all (the EPS) plays on it. (Last uber pc choked on Mansions and Gardens.. so I stopped playing in a fit of pique.  This one plays it nicely. I get to be Goddess again, with lots of plants.. muahahaha!)

What kind of title could I claim vs. what kind of avatard could I give (and to whom) ?  I'm at a loss here, and need some guidance as to which would provide me with the most satisfaction; preferably long term.

Well, as per the old table, at $50 you can be a Baron. Your title stays unless you manage to commit treason or something. That's pretty hard. Other than that, it doesn't do much.

An avatard, on the other hand, gives someone an avatard of your choice until someone pays to get rid of it. This, obviously, contributes indirectly to Supporting the Municipality as well. Plus, if you go with the cheaper non-anonymous option, there are retaliatory avatardings which also Support the Municipality.

Hmmmmm.... more gain on my investment in The Municipality if I give someone an avatard, and they retaliate; sounds good - but no idea as to whom to victimize.   Can I get a bit of time so Rohina can come up with some suggestions, preferably with people who would be willing to respond in kind?

I'd be sad to lose my avatar, but if it's for the good of The Municipality, I can be game.  I like Inge, would she be willing to play?

Avatards last until they are removed or replaced. So, basically, if you buy someone an avatard, it sticks until someone pays to remove it.

Titlights is a definite candidate, but it's a bit hard to top (or bottom) her current avatard. $50 will get you a custom title for her, though. You know, something like "TITLIGHTS".

Well, I re-sized it to avatard size (128 x 128), and Pescado suggested making the edges transparent, to remove the big white square. Per the suggestion, I took out the white background and saved it as a transparent png before resending it. Unfortunately, I don't have time to prod him in #grah about it, but I'll poke my head in tomorrow if needed.

There is most likely a pre-made hack/mod for the forum for funding support, I know there is for other forum software. Surely someone else has done it already. The benefit is that everyone will always know the current state of funds and no one has to remind them.

Maybe you can apply to the government for a bailout. It's a growing trend these days. Even though I suspect you're too productive to qualify for it and I think you have to do something very destructive to the economy to get their attention first.

The last time around, I supported the Municipality by convincing someone to buy me my cool avatar.  It worked well once, but the tactic is not readily repeatable.

How much does paypal take for each transaction?   I want to know for the next go around if doing one $30 donation is better than splitting in two smaller donations?  Wasn't sure if I was going to have the extra money at the end of the month, and figured the last $15 can go toward something else or a start for the next round.   Wish I could do more but very glad the goal was met, couldn't play this game without awesome mod.   How much would be needed for new servers and or the other upgrades needed? 

When I donated, it said the amount it was going to cost. Can't remember now how much and it probably varies according to which country you do it from. But you could try starting another donation and check the amount, then just abort the donation, hopefully  :P

If you send the money and check the boxes for personal payment it doesn't add any Paypal charges.

When I use PayPal, it's drafted from my checking account.  I didn't see anything about amounts subtracted or anything like that, so I was wondering if it was taken from the payee.  I didn't want to send $15 and $5 was taken out for the transaction.  Not haven used PayPal as a merchant, I wasn't sure what fees were taken out.  If sending a larger amount with a smaller fee, which sometimes is the case, would be better for MATY.  Just wanted to make sure that most of the money was going to MATY instead of PayPal.  I wish I could send more, but at the time I knew I could swing the $15 and if I had it at the end of the month I could send more I would.  It's no big deal, but I want to make sure that the cost of using the service didn't take a huge hunk out of the payment sent.

I'm sorry I'm a n00b and a tard, but I wish to donate to this site because I lurk and enjoy it immensely, but I have a few questions I would like answered first, if someone will.

It appears to me that this fundraising goes on only during a certain time of year. Are donations accepted at any time, even not during the fundraising time?

Is PayPal the only option for payment?

It also appears that the last fundraising did not quite meet the quota needed? Apparently since the site is still going, someone would have made up the needed difference. If I donate, would my donation go to the next years' need, or just help to make up the last years' need that someone fulfilled temporarily until the money came in?

I ask this as twallan has recently retired, even though he originally stated he would see The Sims 3 through, but life circumstances change things so it was not possible.

Is Pescado going to carry on through the end of The Sims 3? Is he planning on going on to The Sims 4? I could find nothing on this in Search.

I do not have Awesomemod, nor am I planning on continuing to The Sims 4. I just feel that those who are continuing to support the Sims community, whether past or present, should be able to do so, including getting the help they need.

Since this site also still has The Sims 2, and now The Sims 3, I would guess the plan would be to stay around for awhile, at least as long as is possible depending on donations?

The site wouldn't be here if the quota wasn't met.  Not everyone announces their donations, and the FOJ doesn't always announce that the quota has been met, but if the site is still up past the deadline, the quota was met.

Pescado has said in #grah at least once that he'll accept donations at any time. I think. Anyway, that's how I've interpreted his comments over the last few years.
