Title: Spontaneous combustion after meteor strikes Post by: Bottle-O-Cunt on 2010 August 12, 22:27:06 After waiting ages for the game to make it happen, I finally used debugcommands to get a meteor to hit close to my Sims' home lot.
As usual, they was fi-yah, and one of my sims being a firefighter put it all out. But then these fires just kept starting again, and again, and again, and again, regardless of how many times my FF sim (and his co-workers) tried to extinguish it. EAssian glitch, or am I doing it wrong? Title: Re: Spontaneous combustion after meteor strikes Post by: KawaiiMiyo on 2010 August 13, 12:04:25 You got further than I did. Tried using debug commands to start a meteor earlier today, just caused the game to crash. Heard a few blips/bleeps and whirring noise, (like some old Atari game gone berserk) The screen shook and started flashing for 3 seconds and CTD.

Vowels are the letters a e i o u. Title: Re: Spontaneous combustion after meteor strikes Post by: Aimlak on 2010 August 24, 23:40:06 Always use an before a vowel, not a. Vowels are the letters a e i o u. That's not entirely right either. The rule is you have you use "an" before a vowel sound and there can be other letters even when there's a vowel sound. Eg. an hour; an honor; an MP3. Title: Re: Spontaneous combustion after meteor strikes Post by: Morlock on 2010 August 25, 01:43:33 That's not entirely right either. It is entirely right, always 'an' before a vowel, not 'a'. There are other rules for when 'an' is correctly used before a consonant, I just didn't expand on them as you did. By "not entirely right" I didn't mean you were wrong, but that you had left out the important part in that its based on vowel sounds, not on vowel letters. There are some rare cases where a vowel letter is silent or such where a vowel letter doesn't designate that there is a vowel sound there, thus meaning "an" would not be used in this case. I can't think of an example since it is such a rare case. Title: Re: Spontaneous combustion after meteor strikes Post by: Morlock on 2010 August 25, 03:43:06 Yeah okay, occasionally 'u'. Damn pedants!
