Title: Can't throw parties :( Post by: closetmonster on 2010 April 18, 12:06:30 One of my sim families cannot throw any parties. :(
I've tried moving them out and moving thme back in to no avail. I have the Sims 2 with no expansions and no custom content. When they pick up the phone the option is there however when they start dialing they sort of jump and move a few millimetres and then nothing. Any ideas??? Title: Re: Can't throw parties :( Post by: ritaxis on 2010 April 18, 19:55:28 I wasn't trying to throw parties, but I did get a phone jump a long time ago: it turned out that it happened because I had put certain items in inventory that shouldn't be there (a bed, I recall, and something else: I had thought this would be a streamlined way of not having to buy all new stuff when moving). So, my first suggestion is to look and see if you have anything in the sims' inventory besides the usual ones.

If so, and if what ritaxis suggested doesn't work (I would try her suggestion first), scan your folders anyway. I remember having the phone jump bug many years ago and was confident it was not caused by hacks since I knew what I had and kept them in one directory. Turns out an incompatible version of Pescado's phone hack found its way in through a house install that I didn't use the clean installer for. I know you say you have no custom content, but it couldn't hurt to double check. I removed all the CC but it didn't help. I ended up deleting the house and using simsample's tutorial on MTS to get the house back.

firstly, i don't have any inventory because i don't have any expansions so it can't be that. second, i'm a totaly computer noob hence i don't know how to check for custom content. I might have some left over from the last time i was playing the sims (i had to un-install it). thoughts?
