You may search the board as the question has been answered many many times.

You do realise that sims3pack files install differently than .package files?

To avoid starting up yet another daft thread concerning installing Sims3Packs, I'll post this question here:  When I go into Launcher (I'm on a Mac, so No Monkey For Me) to install a sims3pack, and choose the files I want to install, I am currently getting this message -> Unable to start game Service initialization failed (0x065d0274).  The rest of the game runs fine.  A little slow on loading up perhaps, and I tend to get the occasional cursed Baldy Sim as is symptomatic of the Mac version.  Its just when I try to install sims3packs.  It doesn't seem to be a patch issue, as I had installed other stuff since the last patch I installed. I had a theory that it was a corrupt file within the Electronic Arts -> Downloads folder, but that doesn't seem to be the case either.  Any ideas?

You could try updating the EA download manager.  This starts up when you fire up the launcher, and I found some time ago that it often bugs out, and when it does, the launcher tends to go haywire and not work properly.  But after manually re-installing the download manager, the launcher would start working properly again, until the next time it tried updating itself.

A Google search will give you several locations to download the EADM.  Might not be the problem, but worth a shot and won't hurt anything.

The mac version doesn't use the EADM. In the case of this problem, it is resolved by removing your mods folder from the structure prior to trying to install sims3packs.

Ah, brilliant!  Thank you, Silent Dreamer.  I'll try that suggestion.  (er, not the EADM one.)

I have this issue as well, but I had already removed the mods folder before I installed them. Does anyone else know anything?
