Due to persistent inadequacies in bandwidth, and various other tech support related issues, and the fact that our billing period expires in about 4 days, the time has come to move to an alternate hosting arrangement:

Our options are as follows:
1. We can move to Kofistan, home of TPB with a hardened service provider that will withstand all but the most determined attack. This will somewhat increase our present costs and our warchest will therefore need refilling earlier than originally projected.
2. We can take up with an El Cheapo outfit that usually hosts stuff like porn. This will lower our existing costs, but stability will be unforseeable, as they may fold up unexpectedly. The bandwidth situation will not improve.

Either way, we will get a cool flag.
This decision must be made soon, or the server will be shunted to the crappy backup hosting and you will get to lag horribly while reading about this.

El Cheapo is always cheap.  You get what you pay for.  Besides, I hear Kofistan is a swell place.

Why not just clean out the site? Are you willing to do that? Anyway, I go with Kofistan just cause it's more stable.

Definitely a 'you get what you pay for' kind of thing... it's why I didn't go the 'cheapo' route when I got my own website.

I don't mind tossing a few bucks into the hat earlier rather than later...if it weren't for AM, I wouldn't even bother installing the game.

I vote for Kofistan, and I'm happy to cough up some money to help pay for it when the time comes.

My vote goes to Kofistan as I am willing to donate to help with the costs.

Kofistan all the way, wouldn't want my favourite porn sites to start lagging because of MATY! Unfortunately I cannot give you any extra donations, the monthly fee here is expensive enough.  :P

Deleting accounts wouldn't save bandwidth. The forum is still accessible for public view. You don't need an account to see most of the sections of the forums. Every request to access and download a website's data is what eats at the bandwidth limit.

Stability is MOAR important in this case IMHO than saving a buck or two. The aggravation likely with the cheaper but dubiously reliable service will more than negate any savings that this cheap pr0n buttocks might offer.

While we're demanding new features, would it be possible to make a non-Horror-related forum for general-purpose announcements?  I hardly come here anymore because I've more or less permanently moved back to TS2.

Sorry, Pescado, you got this one wrong. I was referring to the proposal of AloeOwl by looking at his profile, which will explain my totally nutty idea and, unfortunately, would delete myself as well. But, as obvious as it is, this would not bring ease to the bandwidth, just to the brain drain problem.

Welcome to Sweden! We have the Pirate Bay (http://thepiratebay.org/) and the IPRED  (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/7978853.stm) law. Since IPRED came into effect there should be loads of bandwidth left for MATY.

Edit: Don't forget TSR is also located in Sweden, but don't worry they are in another town. My guess MATY is now located in the same server hall that was raided because of The Pirate Bay a couple of years ago.

Speaking of servers: how about the donation drive? Namely, custom titles for donors.
