More Awesome Than You!

Argh! This is horribad.  I was not able to play my Sims 3 for a very long time, due to the glitch on returning from vacation leading to an empty status bar and ruined relationship...which happened to me about...10 plus times in a row.  I got good luck, what can I say.  Now finally when I get my sim home with no glitches, I update my game but can't play it because AM isn't working with it yet! The tragedy...

Does anyone know an estimated time?  Are there anything magical rituals or spells I can perform to help you Pescado?  My sims miss me...they do, they talk to me at night in their simlish language, I don't know what the fuck they are saying bad it sounds hectic!

AwesomeMod has been updated.  There is a test version for the newest patch on the same page as the regular download.  But people are having problems with other issues.  Go look at the new patch thread under "The Horror, The Horror".

Wow, thank you, I don't know how I missed that giant thread of all the flaming atroshities that came with the patch...and after reading nearly every line from a combine 8/10 pages, my brain is hurting.  I couldn't make it through every page, I just couldn't.

So, I don't even know what to do now...I guess I am going to try what you posted in that thread about the CC, but seriously, half the shit on my sims and in my houses is CC, so if it doesn't work, I'm going to be left with a bare-er setup than a porn star...

Seriously, can't EA just go fuck themselves? Just once, that's all I ask, I just wanna see it happen.

And lol, I forgot who posted it, but the mod over at TSR says that only 5% of Sims players use CC, then how the hell do they keep their crap shack in business?  It's more like only 5% of the most retarded, untechnologically savvy people DON'T use CC.  If 95% of people used the poor, sad excuse EA puts out as content the game wouldn't last more than a month.

So rather than update the game and release expansions, you'd rather the game stagnate so that you can use your CC without some minor non-life-threatening difficulty?

Have you not read half the stuff on these forums...or are you just retarded?  I would LOVE for EA to update their game and release expansions, but when said updates send the game back 10 steps with the amount of bugs that come with it, I would rather have them fuck off and let the people who put effor into their work to not have so many stupid bugs like Pescado and other modders just update the game.

And your suggestion is that they NOT try to fix it? Provided fixes are really for bugs, and not simply for shilling and spyware, they are supposed to be a good thing...even if they don't always work out perfectly. This Store crap, though? DNW. But suffice it to say, your need for Awesomeness will never exceed mine. The day it becomes impossible to make TS3 awesome, I will quit and go back to TS2.

I'm simply smarter than your average bear(bear meaning a hilarious euphemism for retarded teen who plays the sims) and understand that patches are not easy things and that it's far far better for them to exist and have some problems than to never exist at all.

Plus I've yet to hear of a big problem with a patch that wasn't a CC conflict, which is not EAs fault.

This is unmitigated bullshit. The most famous example is piano comfort in TS2, which was broken, fixed, broken, fixed, etc. by multiple patches. There was also the maid's repeated cleaning of the fish tank, which followed the same formula.

EA is famous for publishing games that have bugs the community finds in less than a few hours, despite their piss-poor excuse for QA. Patches follow the same formula.

However, it IS true that a large number of bug reports are due to being too fucktarded to actually realize "dur, if the game code changes, modifications to the game code will break".

That said! Now that patches are also including engine upgrades like the basement tool, I'm far more in favor of patches (not that I was ever entirely against them). The patches for TS2 were at best redundant with the Pescado fixes.

And the Launcher issues are caused by mods? Heck if you have a NVidia card and 195.62 drivers you might get the BSOD caused by much they fucked up the launcher ... just for showing how much they tested the damn thing.

The funny thing is the Tool over there suggested that we turn .package files into .sims3packs as the way to solve the WA slowdown issue, if we did that then after THIS patch we would have the issue of even moar CC not working ... the only saving grace is that the Tool was ignored and few sites use EA sims3pack wrapper.

And yes, people ARE stupid ... one of the causes of WA slowdown was having TS2 packages that naturally was going to fuck things over but people stupidity does not excuses EA own stupidity.

I wasn't talking about The Sims 2. I hardly remember The Sims 2 getting updated very often. The Sims 3 excels in the sheer number of updates, as far as I remember.

1.8/2.3: World Adventures Patch + CAW + Store

Oh yes, "updated very often" to clean their own mess as in the rest its just like TS2 with one patch for expansion, granted they are updating the core with expansion functionality by a patch but considering how many patches (3/5) were released to just correct fucks ups that should not had been present in the first place if they actually HAD a Q&A team ...

Now we learned something called "context", more patches does not mean more support ...
