Title: WA incompatible with .package files? Post by: AngerousAlex on 2009 December 09, 02:37:05 If this is EA's way of making sure their shit isn't stolen, it's not cool.
Forgive me if this is stupid/been said before, but I haven't seen this problem in particular posted anywhere. Apparently the World Adventures EP is incompatible with the .package format and pretty much forces you to use .sims3pack or else the game lags horribly. All of my mods are .packages because the launcher is a slow piece of crap. Is there any way to convert .packages to .sims3pack? Probably not. I just want to know because there's no way I'm redownloading fucking everything. And if not, is there at least a solution? Because most creators don't even use .sims3pack format in the first place. My game lags so bad right now that it's unplayable unless I remove all CC. And Sims 3 without CC is...well, unplayable. Thank you. Title: Re: WA incompatible with .package files? Post by: AngerousAlex on 2009 December 09, 02:38:55 Oh, and for the record, yes I have tried moving everything to Sims3/blah blah/World Adventures.

b) Packages are not bad, some packages are bad. As I understand it, EA changed some of the coding so that objects cloned from certain items (including, but not limited to, the fig tree, foosball table and orchid vase) are gumming up the works of the game, which attempts to access them many thousands of times per minute and consequently lags like crazy. Use the Process Monitor (http://www.modthesims.info/showpost.php?p=2954857&postcount=258) or something similar to figure out which files your game is attempting to access over and over. Take those ones out until the creators fix them. c) Use the "edit" feature rather than double-posting. Title: Re: WA incompatible with .package files? I realised that clothes packages do that. Look, I pulled away 5 small clothes packages (from mts2) from the mods folder and - active family loading reduced for 2 minutes (!) 3 minutes before and just 1 minute after Check out if there are a lot of clothes packages in the mods folder first Paintings, object meshes and modifications can be left there |
