More Awesome Than You!

I installed the monkey helper, installed AwesomeMod, my game crashed right at the screen where you pick your game or start a new game. Crashed completely to the desktop. I tried getting the awesome mod off, the game still crashed. COMPLETELY uninstalled the game, and installed it again, and now it crashes after it loads After the movie bit. Please Help. I obviously have no idea what i'm doing. :'(

Monkey helper likely installed the framework in the base TS3 directory.  You need to install the framework files in the WA folder.  Follow the instructions in the non-monkey helper framework - unzip manually to the WA directory in the program files section (not the my docs section) (Wherever it says "main TS3 folder" read "main WA folder").

Also, make sure you have all relevant patches installed.

I dont have WA yet

Did you patch up to version 1.7.9?  Awesomemod is currently configured for this patch for the base TS3.

Yeah, and now it crashes right after the loading screen, doesnt even allow you to pick which game you want to play

Please do not double post.  Use the convenient and helpful "modify" button to add to your post.  Please read our FAQ.

You may want to follow the non-monkey directions and reinstall the framework, just to make sure.  You say you are patched up, so that's fine.

Did you use the Awesomemod configuration tool and save the generated file in your ...mods\packages directory (where the Awesomemod file is saved in your game)?

Sorry. Well, i hadnt installed the awesomemod configuration tool and since i uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it, there isnt a mods/packages folder yet.

Which means there isn't an awesomemod installed.  Perhaps you need it.

one more thing. when you go to download the awesomemod, it says mirror 1 and mirror 2. what's the difference and which one do i need to download?

After reading, browse your game files and folders and make sure everything IS as it should be, if it isn't change it.

It's just two different locations in case one is down. Download from either. And make sure to read the instructions on installing the framework carefully. It may seem a little intimidating at first, but it's really simple.

I feel a tremendous urge to introduce my head forcefully to my desk.  Meh.  Should have probably done that a couple of hours ago.

and yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that, etc, etc.

I head off next week for a 6 week trip to the US, I wonder how bad the shit will be when I get back, maybe the reception will return to normal viewing by then, but I doubt it.  I hope to get just enough internets time to update AM so I can play on the slow (slightly below spec) laptop when there is nothing else to do.  I just wish the plane had power outlets so I could pass the 14 hrs flight playing, would make the flight seem so much quicker.

Additionally, I have almost severed my tongue with my clenched teeth, all in an unnatural effort to remain calm and civil!

You managed to remain amazingly calm through it all, I knew something would eventually have to let go.  I ALMOST pity (not really) the person that gets that first burst.
