Title: Custom Content hiding place Post by: shadow on 2009 November 11, 15:48:35 Where does EA hide their custom content? Due to some errors I'm going to have to reinstall the game and I want to save all the CC I have. I have copied the 'mods' folder and the saved game but EA puts their content somewhere else and I'm not sure where.
ETA: The error I'm getting when I try to start the game is: Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x6224dd27) Any ideas would be appreciated immensely. ;D Title: Re: Custom Content hiding place Post by: tizerist on 2009 November 11, 17:08:39 Yes.
The launcher bizarrely stores multiple files in a single file located at C:\Users\yourname\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache and should this file not be present, none of them will show up. Its all or nothing, you can't just delete some of them. Using 3viewer to install stuff gives you more control over this. The 'monkey installer' doesn't work on these for some reason. So I'll just copy the DCcache folder to the desktop and that should work, right? ???
