Title: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: pentabet on 2009 October 14, 05:11:11 Must I download the EA Download Manager to get the patches?
- Is the EADM safe to put on my computer? What stupidity should I keep an eye out for? [Both EA's, and my own.] Aside from AwesomeMod, what would you suggest I do or add to keep my game from going kaplooey? I've been trying to get through the threads, but some of what I'm probably looking for is scattered, and I don't want to miss something because the thread name didn't tell me that it holds a "randomly helpful post#5," for example. No, you can download the patches direct.- Is the EADM safe to put on my computer? It doesn't appear to be outright malicious, but it's unnecessary and pointless. What stupidity should I keep an eye out for? [Both EA's, and my own.] Your HAT.Aside from AwesomeMod, what would you suggest I do or add to keep my game from going kaplooey? That's the most important thing.Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: pentabet on 2009 October 14, 05:25:02 Thank you for the prompt reply, Mr. Pes.
Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: Crazetex on 2009 October 14, 11:25:58 I'd like to suggest the Indiestone story progression mod in conjunction with Awesomemod. Awesomemod makes the game better, the Indiestone mod makes the game more inherently interesting.
Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: chaos on 2009 October 14, 11:53:52 I would like to recommend the Awesome story driver in favor of the Indie Stone story driver. A bottom-up approach makes a helluva lot more sense than a top-down approach. Also, lurk and read a lot.
Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: Lion on 2009 October 14, 11:59:03 Yeah, what's the deal with the indiestone? Once I got everything running smoothly, I switched to it (AM + IndiestoneMod) for a brand new hood with 10 single YAs to start. For a week's sim time, nothing story wise happened, except for one bus kill. Nobody paired off with nobody. Only two or three found a random job that did not fit their personality. With AM's story progression, most of them paired off and found fitting jobs by the end of the week. Plus, I had to manually set no emigrant, no immigrant, such and such. And for some options, there's no way to tell what default setting is, and one had to go through the long menu many many times.
I don't get it. What's so good about Indiestone? Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: snowbawl on 2009 October 14, 15:32:35 I don't get it. What's so good about Indiestone? Nothing. Used it for a long time, so I can say that. Awesomemod story driver is so much better. As an added bonus, you get to control your population growth through crib placement. Indiestone just makes your hood asplode. Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know... Post by: pentabet on 2009 October 15, 05:34:12 If I use the AwesomeMod Config Tool, the tiny file generated is in ADDITION to AwesomeMod, and is obviously not a replacement file, right?
Yeah, I'm stupid, and so is my hat, but I'm trying to make sure my pregnant, tired, stupid-hatted ass hasn't lost the powers of reading comprehension THAT badly before I finally start up my game... lol. You should be pleased to note, Mr. Pes, that it was AwesomeMod that finally convinced me to get TS3. I really want to test some of the burnination stuff you threw in there! Not even for the game itself am I making this damned effort... Title: Re: Finally Installed TS3, and I'd like to know...
