Title: Pattern: Old Country Roses by Royal Albert Post by: Ambular on 2009 September 26, 03:21:28 Here's a pattern based on one of the most popular china and collectible patterns of all time, Royal Albert's Old Country Roses.
(http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/cheese/noncheese/OCR_CAS.jpg) (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/cheese/noncheese/OCR_Objects.jpg) Three recolorable channels plus an alpha that controls the lightness of the pattern. The background is not recolorable. Don't run the file through the Compressorizer Redux or Pes's Recompressor; it won't like it. These are really beautiful and it's too bad that my Mom isn't playing S3, she's sticking with S2, as this pattern has been her favorite since she was a little girl... Thanks ! :D Title: Re: Pattern: Old Country Roses by Royal Albert Post by: Sita on 2009 October 01, 13:53:34 Lovely! My Sims will love this, thank you!
Title: Re: Pattern: Old Country Roses by Royal Albert Post by: saraswati on 2009 October 01, 20:40:16 I loved the attention to detail and clean look of this pattern, I downloaded it a couple of days ago.
I was trying to work out how you managed to make the background not recolourable. Did you do it by turning it that area black on the alpha level and setting white as the filler colour? That area is black in all four channels and the background is set to white, yes. I'd actually rather have the background be recolorable, but I'd have to sacrifice the details controlled by the alpha or else lose the recolorability of either the leaves or one or two of the roses. :/ Thanks for all the nice comments, folks, I'm glad you like it. White is the colour you'd expect on the background of that pattern. I make patterns for the game myself, so I understand the difficult choice involved. The four colour limit is incredibly frustrating at times.
