Title: serious error occurred while loading town Post by: kittie on 2009 September 11, 17:25:05 I didn't know where else to post this sorry if its not in the right forum. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whats going on with my game and maybe how to fix it. I recently installed a new harddrive into my PC and was hoping to move my sims 3 town along with it so I didn't have to start over from scratch. I copied over my mods folder and that installed fine. I copied over my documents/electronic arts/the sims 3 folder (the whole thing) to its appropriate place also. When I start up my game the neighborhood is there but says there was a serious error loading it and quits. Help :'(
Title: Re: serious error occurred while loading town Post by: spaceface on 2009 September 11, 18:02:49 You should have reinstalled your game.
To keep your existing game, you need to copy your "saves" folder. Found at: My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves This contains all the information about your game as you have played it so far. You should copy the abovementioned folder, keep it in a safe place (eg on your desktop), reinstall your game, then drop your saves in, and then put your mods back of course. It didn't work. I've just decided to start a new town (which does work) because i'm not willing to do a whole reinstall again ::) Thanks anyways though.

Title: Re: serious error occurred while loading town Post by: kittie on 2009 September 11, 19:35:21 Sorry, just wanted to know if there was a way to fix it. I still am saving my saves incase someone comes up with a way down the line. I'm just not holding my breath, and in the meantime starting up a new neighborhood.
