Title: Stuck/Freeze at placing a lot
Post by: Lion on 2009 September 02, 11:59:46
Does anybody else have this problem? The whole computer freezes when the game is "processing" when a lot is placed or rotated, at the plumbob circling stage. The mouse freezes and I can't even bring up task manager with ctrl-alt-del. I have to power off the computer. This seems to happen 1 out of 5 chances. It's not necessarily because of corrupted lots. The same lots got placed a few tries later.

Also the process of placing a lot down is painfully long even when it succeeds. Is it just me?

The game is patched to 1.3 and uses the most updated awesomemod.

Thanks for any input.

Are you sure it's the game freezing? Sometimes when I am placing Lots on The Sims 3 the game seems freezes up BUT it is actually still processing. I can NEVER CTRL-ALT-DELETE out of The Sims 2 & 3 when it is doing something very Processor or Memory intensive such as loading screens or placing lots. Or is it that the mouse cursor has frozen completely and won't move at all? And don't worry about the Process of placing lots takes forever with me too.

Yes, "the mouse cursor has frozen completely and won't move at all".

Oh crap. How long did you wait until you tried to ctrl-alt-delete out of the game?

Pretty much immediately.

Hmm...i'll try to copy this error. You know like placing lots everywhere in the chance that it might freeze then i'll investigate a bit. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
