Title: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: ccurrie on 2009 August 08, 00:00:33 This was happening when I originally installed TS3 (retail) and installed with mods including Awesomemod. So I removed everything and restored awesomemod and it still did it. So I did a complete clean install of my whole computer (it needed it anyway), installed TS3 again with awesomemod and it still happens. In CAS, the slider won't make the sim fat right away, the body splits with the top half going one way and the bottom the other way. If I tab through my open screens and come back, it seems to reset the slider and my sim appears fat. Then when I save and put that sim into a lot, the sim looks thin again. If I zoom in, the body splits and still no fat sim.
What could the problem be? ??? Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: Drakron on 2009 August 08, 00:22:59 Update your graphics card drivers.
Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: ccurrie on 2009 August 08, 00:39:59 Thanks Drakon. By fluke (I was looking for the Riverview file again) I saw something about disjointed sims in CAS. Of course disjointed was the word that would have described it perfectly. So I will post the info here in case anyone else has the same problem.
This is the link to the solution post. http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/71119.page (http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/71119.page) I however needed to get a driver specifically from Dell so I went here. http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=gen&~ck=mn (http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=gen&~ck=mn) I am just going to reboot to see if I did it correctly. Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: ccurrie on 2009 August 09, 19:05:58 I don't really know. I can't seem to find it in my device manager so it may be built in? i have a Dell laptop with intel 965 chipset.

Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: Tmantas on 2009 August 11, 07:39:51 Mine seperated the same way as i had used the slider hack, but, removed it before i installed
the newest Sims3 patch.. Then later i moved out that big sim and then it seperated.. I have biiiig sims like that in the game that works just fine as i didn`t move them.. Am waiting for an updated version of the slider hack that i can install so then it may work again probably. I can`t use the hack as it is now as it crashes the game to desktop already when the intro starts.. Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: Olivia on 2009 August 12, 14:29:35 I had the body-seperating happening with not only fat sims, but skinny ones as well. Updating the drivers didn't do anything for me, either. Have you seen any fat sims walking around your town? Guess I never noticed, but after I installed the patch before last, I saw this hugely fat sim and realized that I had never actually seen a fat sim in my game before. If you haven't updated, give that a try.
Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: Spydre on 2009 October 15, 21:20:18 I had this exact same problem in my game. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and the GM965 chipset driver on Dell's website is out of date but the one on the Intel website wouldnt install because of the certificate or whatever.
Anyway after poking around on various tech forums and whatever I managed to fix it. I downloaded the driver from the Intel website, but the zipped version. Unzipped it then in Device Manager, right clicked on the chipset and clicked update driver then browsed for the folder so did it manually. When it asked what folder to look for the driver in, I chose the Graphics folder that was unzipped from the Intel driver package and it installed. Checked my game and it fixed the problem! I am finally seeing fat and muscled sims! Hope this helps someone else! Title: Re: My fat Sims bodies separate when I go into play mode! Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 October 16, 06:00:09 An "Intel Whatzit" is not appropriate for playing any 3D games, they are purely intended for 2D desktop rendering and lack any 3D capability whatosever, being outclassed even by a decade-old 3D card. You cannot really play games with that. Get a new card.
