Title: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 03, 23:57:22 Hey everyone, I've been searching foreverrr for a solution to this, but I can't find one that 100% applies to me and solves my problem. Well, my game crashes to the desktop every time I get to the main menu and choose my neighborhood. It won't even try to load the neighborhood, it automatically closes. It's not random or anything it does it every single time and I've restarted the game about 50 times at least, and it always finishes loading at the first screen. I have the 1.3 patch and I play from the CD. My game is not a crack. I have tried installing enablescripterror and it didn't fix anything either, so I deleted it and still no good. I've deleted the caches about a billion times and still nothing. It's absolutely driving me insane! I have been everywhere and nothing has been a help.
Thank you so much :) Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 04, 00:11:38 It has been talked about many, many, MANY times here in numerous other threads.
DO NOT USE THE SCRIPTERROR package. It does NOT fix anything. It never did. It never will. It ONLY gives a log of some errors. If you are not a coder or reporting your findings back to one it will do you zero good and in fact has been reported to cause problems for people with the patch. Again, if you don't have a specific reason for using it, don't use it! As for the crash, I have seen 80 bazillion people kermitflailing on and on about it but I have yet to come across anyone who claims to know the reason for it. I and many other of us are not getting it. First off are you using PC or Mac version? If the latter I have no clue about Mac and cannot speak for it. What I would try is taking out ALL custom content. Everything. Move your resource.cfg and mods folder somewhere. Move your My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder somewhere. See if you can still get the game to start. Don't worry about your saves just try a new neighborhood. If that works then something you downloaded is causing the issue. If not maybe it's a bad patch job, I don't know. Next time try to search as probably every 5th post here lately is about this particular issue. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 04, 00:24:50 I knew about the scripterror, but I heard it occasionally solved an issue, so I thought by trying it no harm done.
I am using a PC and I have already tried taking out all custom content (which is only hair) and the Resource.cfg It won't even let me create a new neighborhood without closing down. Most people who had this issue, that I saw did NOT have the patch, but I do...so that's why I posted. Sorry for the annoyance. I really didn't mean to just take up space. Again, the ones I saw didn't have the same things that applied to me. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 04, 00:39:23 If you are getting crashes on the base game patch with absolutely no mods or custom content running then it is not an awesomemod issue and you probably should inquire with EA support or at sims3.com or modthesims.info etc.
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 04, 00:41:44 Nope, the base game works absolutely perfectlyy.
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: wildbill on 2009 August 04, 06:26:58 If the base game is working absolutely perfectly then the answer to your problem is obvious. It has to be your cc. Try placing your cc back in the game one package at a time until you narrow it down to the one that is causing the crash. Then you'll know.
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 04, 14:26:01 I've already done that, too :/ My game works fine with all my cc, and without it, but when I download the awesome mod (with or without cc) my game no longer works.
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 04, 17:03:33 I've already done that, too :/ My game works fine with all my cc, and without it, but when I download the awesome mod (with or without cc) my game no longer works. You are telling me your game runs fine w/o awesomemod, with awesomemod and no other mods or custom content whatsoever it doesn't work? Did you take everything else out of your mods folder and also yank out the entire My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/ folder? You can't just take out the downloads because those are only backups. It stores them in the DCCache and backups in the DCBackup etc. It also is doing this even if you try to start a new game and not restore a save? You are using the latest version of Awesomemod? (It's updated a lot) Have definitely patched your game to 1.3 and the patching was successful? I know you said you got the patch but just clarifying. If that truly is the case then there must be something wrong with your configuration because it's working for us and we cannot reproduce that. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: DentedLemons on 2009 August 05, 00:24:36 I'm having the exact same issue. Crashes to the desktop as soon as I choose a neighborhood with Awesomemod installed. Without it, all works fine. I've tried numerous times, and it is absolutely consistent. Thought I might have a corrupted file and I've tried re-downloading. Crash is always the same. Crashes both with and without my custom config file.
I always clear out my caches between taking out / putting in awesome too. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game, because I wanted to go back to my game before the horrible 1.3 patch. So I'm patched up to 1.2 or whatever it was. I was plenty happy with my game before that patch so I'm trying to get back there. I really do not want to play without awesome. :( Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: danaemichele on 2009 August 05, 00:31:10 I'm having the exact same problems.
Exact. And I, too, have reverted back to just the 1.2.7 patch because the 1.3 was awful. I really don't know what to do.... Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: DentedLemons on 2009 August 05, 01:12:47 Er.. seriously? :( I guess no awesome for me then. My game was completely unplayable after 1.3 patch. I will not put it back on till all the stupid standing around is cleared up one way or another - it took hours just to make a meal or do a little gardening.
Does anyone have an old copy of awesomemod from just before the 1.3 patch? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Doesn't fix the person who started the thread tho, they have the newest patch. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 05, 17:01:31 The only other things I can think of are Daz thought the patch went through but it actually errored out on something and didn't, there's some lingering conflicting file still somewhere, or there's something particular about Daz's specific configuration that the rest of us don't have that is causing the problem. Thing is, we can't solve something we can't reproduce.
To Daz or anyone else having this issue and who has patched check your TS3.exe file located here C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Right click on it, select properties (the last option on the menu) and then look and see if the file and date information match this: (http://pws.cablespeed.com/moliva/TS3Patch1.3Properties-1.JPG) Then go to the Version tab at the top and see if your version info matches this: (http://pws.cablespeed.com/moliva/TS3Patch1.3Properties-2.JPG) If you patched successfully all that info should match. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: ciane on 2009 August 05, 17:51:39 Daz, the last resort is always reinstalling the game. Maybe a file became corrupted.
I'm just curious, what operating system do you have? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 05, 18:21:47 Ok I compared the properties for my Sims 3 to the picture of what it should be, and apparently it looks like my patches didn't download right. My computer won't let me download the patches from the Download Manager so I have to always find the manual links to download it so I guess it apparently didn't patch it correctly.
My verison says it's version 0.0.0.11195 which severely needs to be updated. Does anyone have a link to the patches that will actually download correctly? EDIT: I have also already reinstalled the game, and still doesn't work :/ Also I have gotten the patch links from MTS and it still won't update my game...what do I do now? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: bottles on 2009 August 05, 18:28:27 I have experienced this crash on my game, where you select a save game or a new game, and it CTDs.
I have a Mac. My crash has additional things, though: When I have all my CC in except patterns, the game makes it to the choose a game crash. With patterns, it hangs on the black screen before the intro starts. I sorta think that may be a problem with too much CC, because I checked, and they are all patterns. I took one out that I noticed was something.beauty.package instead of just .package, but that didn't help any. It just seems odd that only ~500 patterns would kill my game. Anyway, when I made it to the choose a save game screen, I tried to make a new neighborhood, but Riverview was unavailable. According to the launcher, it's installed, and I found its file in the SavedWorlds folder. I reinstalled the game and repatched up to 1.3, and that has fixed exactly nothing. Removing all CC fixed the CTD, but Riverview is still not showing up for me. Removing awesomemod and keeping all other CC (except my patterns) fixed the CTD, but Riverview is still not showing up for me. Removing all CC except awesomemod fixed the CTD, but Riverview is still not showing up for me. So my Riverview problem is a vanilla issue, and my choose neighborhood screen CTD appears to be a CC conflict issue. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 05, 18:34:07 Daz: What version of the game do you have? US English or Worldwide?
0.0.011195 is the base unpatched game so your attempt at patching definitely didn't take. Get this file for Worldwide: http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/sims3_1.3.24.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe Or this one for US English: http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/sims3_1.3.24.00001_from_1.0.631.00001.exe Watch the patching program carefully to see if it errors out and if so look for a log to see what file is the problem or just use Delphy's patch log viewer (http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/11692_090731091056PatchLogViewer35.rar) Remember, if you changed or removed any file from the original base game install the patch may complain and refuse to install. This includes but not limited to, no-cd cracks, some versions of the censor blur removal, camera changes, possibly even removing default library families or mp3s or any of that. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Daz on 2009 August 05, 18:38:58 Ok I finally have updating my game successfully. I'm now going to try the awesome mod, and pray that it works.
EDIT: IT WORKS! :D Thank you so much Motoki! I owe you one biggg time. I was seriously considering to quit playing Sims 3 if it hadn't have worked. Oh my goodness, thank you, I really appreciate it. :) Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Edana ni Emer on 2009 August 06, 18:06:28 I've got the same weird crash issue: Previous version of Awesomemod worked fine. Got the "UPDATE YOU MORON" message, updated. Game would then load, but when I tried to choose a savegame or create a new one, the game crashed to desktop with no warning (though I could choose to copy a game with no problem). Deleted caches, no effect. reinstalled game, no effect but I had forgotten to delete the leftover folders. Reinstalled game again, tried running game with a cracked .exe and without Awesomemod, game worked fine. Replaced cracked .exe with original, tried putting Awesomemod back in, crash to desktop when I tried to choose a neighborhood.
From what I can tell, it's something AM-related. But only with the new one, the old one worked fine. I'm patched and have no other CC. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 07, 06:12:26 Be absolutely certain you updated. That behavior is symptom of running an old version of the game with the current version of awesomemod.
Look at the images above and check your TS3.exe in the C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin directory and be sure the properties on it match those in the picture. If you aren't showing File Version 0.2.0.18, DEBUG version 2009-07-23-1859 (by codebuilder on SIMS-BUILD124) then your patch did not take and you need to patch again and make sure it goes through this time. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Edana ni Emer on 2009 August 07, 16:28:29 Okay, I've run the updater *three times*, every time I do it says the game is already patched... but the .exe info never matches up with what you've shown. I'm working off the Razor1911 version.
Edit: And I've run the patch log reader, and it says everything installed successfully. WTF? ??? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 07, 16:34:45 What version info is it giving? Where are you getting the patch from, the launcher/EA updater or direct download? If the latter, which link/file are you using? If you run the launcher, what version of the game does it say you have in the lower left corner?
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Edana ni Emer on 2009 August 07, 16:47:36 Ah, finally figured it out. I'd skipped a patch. >.< I hadn't even known that the new one was out, I was still using the last one. *facepalm*
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: starfreak on 2009 August 09, 08:05:46 So you have to have 1.3 patch to install AwesomeMod? That is bull. Because for some people, including me, the stupid patches are what make the game crash not custom content. i have no patches installed at all because the first one made my game crash and the second one wouldnt install at all. Is there an older version of AwesomeMod that will work without any patches?
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 August 09, 08:32:38 Well, you don't HAVE to, but there is no information on how well the Unholy Hybrid will run.
Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: starfreak on 2009 August 09, 18:24:56 So if I install AwesomeMod, and my game crashes, I should be able to just take out the AwesomeMod files and my game should be back to normal right?

Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 09, 18:34:27 So if I install AwesomeMod, and my game crashes, I should be able to just take out the AwesomeMod files and my game should be back to normal right? If the crash is being caused by Awesomemod (being used on an old version of the game) then logic would follow that statement yes. Anyway it's easy enough to test it and find out. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: alyria on 2009 August 09, 18:43:27 Well, you don't HAVE to, but there is no information on how well the Unholy Hybrid will run. There is actually tons of information on how well the Unholy Hybrid will run. It doesn't. It crashed on the neighborhood screen. The End. With the addition of expiration dates, people have the option to patch or just not use awesome mod. That's it. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: azahiel on 2009 August 09, 19:08:51 Hey, I recently have a similar problem.
Awesome mod wouldn't work with patch 1.3 at all. The first loading screen just froze. I had a full system crash and had to reinstall windows from scratch. The Sims 3 directory in my documents was saved, because I moved my documents to a different partition. Anyway, I reinstalled Sims 3, it successfully updated to patch 1.4. Now the game simply crashes to the desktop on the first loading screen. If I add scriptterror it manages to load, but crashes exactly like explained before - right after choosing a family. It turned out that I have a mod conflict with: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=356510 So if you have this crash and use other mods remove all of them and try to run the game with only awesome. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Juleru on 2009 August 09, 19:36:34 Same problem here!
I'm playing with the unpatched version of the game (no cc except Riverview and two cars/two sets from the store, so no other mods) and it works pretty fine but when i use AwesomeMod it crashes to desktop. Since July 20th the game always crashed when i tried to use the mod - but it worked fine with the mod of July 15th. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. What SEEMED like a mod conflict (because the game worked after deleting that mod) transformed into the "do not report" crash now every time I try and run the game...damn :< and it worked fine on 1.2 Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 09, 23:43:54 Some stuff to try:
Check the version in the launcher and/or on the ts3.exe. Make sure the patch really did take. In the launcher the version in the lower left corner should be listed as 1.3.24.00001, 1.3.24.00002, 1.4.6.00001 , or 1.4.6.00002. The TS3.exe version should read 0.2.0.18. Take all other mods and custom content besides awesomemod out and see if it still happens. Keep trying. How many times is every time? The standard crash on loading screen has been known to happen 5 or 6 times in a row for me, but if you're loading 20+ times and still no dice then definitely something is wrong. Make sure you have the very latest version of awesomemod (updates that provide fixes but aren't a full new version are frequently posted without being announced) Make sure your framework installed correctly when you reinstalled the game. Be sure you have d3dx9_31.dll in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin, a resource.cfg in C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3. Good tips. I'll definitely try looking for conflicts, because that's the only thing I can do really ;p TS3.exe version is correct and I have the framework installed by the monkey helper. And "every time" last I checked was 10 or so times. Which is weird, because when I posted that I had a mod conflict the game ran fine. In fact I don't have any core altering mods so all theoretically should be compatible. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: azahiel on 2009 August 10, 01:31:42 sorry for double posting, but I can't edit.
An update for my adventure with awesome mod: It finally works...5 out of 5 tries and the game loads correctly...so far. I searched for more conflicts and removed one that may have caused the problem. Awesome mod seems to choose at random with which mod it's incompatible now, because last time I removed a possible conflicting mod it loaded correctly. BUT I also placed a cracked exe instead of the original TS3.exe. I doubt that this was the solution, but maybe maybe... Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Motoki on 2009 August 10, 02:04:38 It's probably voodoo, but hell if it works who cares?
Just keep a backup copy of your original TS2.exe or any future patches or expansions will refuse to install. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. If the latter, which link/file are you using? If you run the launcher, what version of the game does it say you have in the lower left corner? I'm going to jot down my findings to help other people with possible mod interaction problems. I'm on a PC. I have a No-CD Razr cracked .exe I've patched my game and I have all the information listed earlier in this post concerning version info exactly as listed. I always remove my cache after adding any new mods to my game. My game used to crash at the loading screen. That seems to have stopped after I updated my Awesomemod and Awesomeconf several times. After that it crashed at the Neighborhood loading screen as soon as I picked a 'save' and hit LOAD. In order to figure out why I went through the process of removing and re-adding all my MANY mods one at a time. Here are my findings. The bare game runs. CC (Without Awesome or Indie Mods) runs. Indie Mod alone runs. Awesome Mod alone runs. Indie Mod plus CC (No AwesomeMod) runs. Awesome mod and Indie Mod (without other CC) together run. MOD's that made the game crash on the loading screen: ATHLETIC ENVIRONMENT MOOD MULTIPLIER mod All of the MORE FUN mods (cooking, reading, writing, etc)* the zpocalypse_jfoodswpack mod Solace in Sound's MOVE IN mod More than 8 Queue slots mod Simply Lockable Door* Further Note: Removing INDIE STONE MOD seems to have stopped the game from crashing when these mods are re-integrated into the packages folder. Even though they have nothing to do with each other, and mod entirely different XML, they just seem to not want to work together. Though mods marked with *s refuse to work with the latest (as of August 09) AwesomeMod at all and the latest SIMS3 patches, with or without Indie Mod. Hair, Clothing, Make up, Pattern packages don't seem to affect game play/crashing in the least. It's only the fine tune mods that affect crashes with Indie and Awesome mod installed. I have not, on the other hand, been able to replicate or figure out exactly why the game was dying at the Neighborhood screen, since I moved the mods around for this test. I'll do a follow up if it happens again. Hope this helps people. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,16294.msg469052.html#msg469052) Re-installed Delphy's Monkey Thing. Played the tutorial. Switched around houses all while being warned I'd lose things. Saved and Quit. Added AwesomeMod from TODAY 8/9/2009 @ 11pm... And finally, my game crashes when attempting to select a neighborhood. I have nothing else in my game (no Mods and no CC because I haven't been able to get that far). Also, looking into the Versions of the EXE's, I found another problem: I am patched to 1.4.6.00002 but, my EXE version is still 0.0.0.11195. Can someone send me their EXE version 0.2.0.18? Maybe that will kick something in the nuts. The Launcher is the correct current version. I just tried installing patches, but of course I get a message stating patches are already installed. At this point, I just want to try getting a EXE version 0.2.0.18 and see if that remedies things. If not, then I'll start that sick cycle again. Re-installed on PC (RZR version). Patched to 1.4 (using a single patcher) <---------GUH??!!!? Did the patch definitely say it went through or did it give some sort of error? It seems the problem some people are having is that they think they patched when in fact they have not or have not all the way. Your exe should definitely not be 11195 if you patched successfully, but I am not sure that just replacing the exe is good enough since the patch modifies other files as well. What version of the game does the launcher say you have if you look in the lower left hand corner? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Sparks on 2009 August 10, 05:06:52 ...and once again I am stung by the fucking Launcher. I opened it earlier while I was replacing and moving files and things and the version did say 1.4.6.00002 (the patch was successful because I saw the successful plumbob screen). BUT, I ran into some other problem, something to do with Riverview not showing up in the drop down, and some where in switching files or something, I don't know.
I haven't opened the Launcher since then but I just opened it (8/9/09 @ 12:45AM) and SOME HOW SOME WHERE the version reverted to the first game version, the very first version. I got a pop asking if I wanted to patch and I said YES. Then another message popped saying something like, "I see you have some files with the version 1.4.6.00002 already. So you do not need this patch because it is already installed. BUT would you, perhaps, like to install it anyway?" I said YES. And now it's done. Game is back working, along with my beloved AwesomeMod. Conclusion: the Launcher is like a retarded dog you just wanna kick, but is so cute you can't help but love it. Post by: Sparks on 2009 August 10, 06:44:07 Or you cound not use the crapsure and get the installer replacement tool, and run the direct exe (for the game and updates) <_< I used a standalone patcher to begin with. I use the 3Viewer and Delphy's Multi Pack Installer on a regular basis. Not everything works with those tools. Sometimes you have to suck it and use the, Crapsure...did you say? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: kuronue on 2009 August 10, 13:54:44 What version info is it giving? Where are you getting the patch from, the launcher/EA updater or direct download? If the latter, which link/file are you using? If you run the launcher, what version of the game does it say you have in the lower left corner? I'm going to jot down my findings to help other people with possible mod interaction problems. Why did you quote Motoki asking for information and then not give any of the information that was asked for? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. You say that the crash started when you updated "it". What did you update, AwesomeMod? Is your game patched to 1.3 or 1.4? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. I have literally just reinstalled the the sims 3 and put the very latest AwesomeMod in as I have only just returned to the sims 3 have a month return to TS2. Did patch? Please tell me you patched. It's all over this thread that running awesomemod not patching or having a borked patch install will crash the damned game and I will be forced to beat you upside the head with a fish if you read this thread and still did not patch. Also, if you did make sure the patch took. I have no clue what version the Mac exe file patched is, but you could try checking the game version in the launcher at least. Honestly there is a lot of talk and suggestions about what to do if you get crashes and I even started a whole thread about it. I suggest you try all those various suggestions and if you still are having issues, well then report back and we'll see what we can do. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Georgette on 2009 August 16, 18:10:07 I've got it working now. Downloaded the patch but it still took the deletion of the script cache 6 times before it would work. But it's working now, and that's all that matters. 8)
Thanks for the reminder to check the patching and read the thread again. I fail at common sense sometimes ;D Finally got AwesmodMod for the first time now and thoroughly enjoying using The Rapture. Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: Juleru on 2009 August 21, 13:14:27 As we've said several times, awesomemod does not work with the unpatched game. Done. Period. End of story. Thank you drive thru. Oh, ok. Which patch do i have to get? 1.4 or does it work with 1.2? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 August 21, 13:24:44 1.3/1.4 is the currently supported patch. (There were no script changes from 1.3 to 1.4).

The only thing is it wasn't doing it yesterday, and I haven't changed anything. The only thing I may have done is update Awesomemod! I am patched up to 1.4. >:(

Just did a fresh install (having uninstalled the game awhile back) and put in the latest version of AwesomeMod . No dice. I saw this thread and installed Patch 1.3, and I'm still having the same issue. I'm not sure what to do.Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: earthshoes on 2009 August 29, 18:54:00 Before I go any further, I want to thank Pescado for the auto save feature. Without it, I would have uninstalled this turkey yesterday and been done with this entire EA fiasco. The auto save feature makes the CTDs bearable. At least until something changes or I figure out what the hell I'm doing to contribute to the problem. I'm inclined to think it's my computer at this point. I have a Celeron Processor (yes, I know, I know. But the price was right at the time). It's only a few months old and I have plenty RAM and a compatible video card with adequate board memory. The game generally plays smoothly, without lags, the graphics look great, and, until this started, I had no real problems with it other than the rare error 13 code and the now rectified 1am freeze. Everything is patched and all drivers are updated.
That said, since it's begun crashing semi-regularly, I've (finally) noticed a trend. The last several times the game CTDed the characters were in the park in Sunset Valley. I've been tracking my CPU temperature and it doesn't appear to be any warmer after the crash than it was before. I'm using the 3booter and the fpslimter and last night I turned on Vsync just to be on the safe side. After emptying all the cache files I played for a blissful couple of hours without a snag. This morning it ran smoothly during the thirty minutes or so I had to play it in. This afternoon it crashed just ten minutes into the play--minutes after I sent a character to the park. I'm just reaching here because I'm only just now beginning to understand some of this. Could this have something to do with the frame rate? The park is a big place with a lot of activity--running water, cars passing, sims running around, etc. If I slow down my frame rate (and I'll have to look up how to do that)--do you suppose it will help? Title: Re: Weird Crash --- can't find any sort of solution. Post by: pandazarehawt on 2009 September 19, 05:37:12 i had this EXACT same issue, It was my other CC conflicting with the mod, go into your cc and Move EVERYTHING except awesome mod and run the game. If it works then its trial and error, slowly keep adding stuff untill you get to where it crashes again and try to weed out which download caused the issue, Luckily I have all my cc organized so It was easy for me to fnd out which thing was causing the problem.
! GOOD LUCK ;) |
