Title: Saved sims disappeared?
Post by: Korochuun on 2009 August 02, 23:54:51
Tried searching, no luck. Does no one else have this problem?
I just updated to 1.3 after tons of fixing. Ran the game. My old neighbourhood is FUBAR but I could make a new one no problem. Tried making a new sim and all the sims in the bin are gone, save for four.
I can see them in the SavedSims all 51 beautiful saved sims.

My wonderment: Why won't they show up ingame?

Edit: Thanks for all your help. I'm not really sure happened. I was flipping between messing around in the folders and opening the game repeatedly and suddenly everything's shown up again. Sort of a weird problem, and I still don't even know how it happened!

Have you tried clicking on the files in the "SavedSims" file on your computer and reinstalling them? Perhaps the update got snagged and didn't keep your sims installed into the game.
Try clicking and reinstalling one then see if it shows up in your game. I know in Sims 2 this was the case in lots of problems.

Thanks for the reply.

I tried that earlier. Reinstalled every one and reloaded the game: Same thing.

Do you mean that they aren't showing up in the Library bin, after you've created them in CAS?

No. The Library bin is fine. When I go to CAS and open up the bin, only four of my saved ones show up.
The library has everything I didn't delete, but not nearly all of the sims I had in the CAS bin.

Oh, then you just need to place your custom sims from the Library somewhere in your town (if you haven't already) and then take each one of them to a dresser or mirror, or use one of the console commands for that, if you're using Awesomemod. Once the sim has loaded into CAS, click the round button with the three dots on it, click the folder icon, and save the sim to your CAS bin. It will also be saved to your Saved Sims directory under Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3.
