Title: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 07, 17:52:15 One of my Sims has the well-documented "plate stuck to hand" bug. It is not only annoying but she is unable to cook any foods involving the use of the food processor because of it. She cannot cook anything without the "cannot reach it" or "something in the way" icon showing.
She can cook if I remove the food processor up to the point of serving the food where the "cannot reach it" icon recurs. There seems to be nothing to be done. She is doomed to have a bowl of mac and cheese forever attached to her hand. Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 07, 17:58:09 I don't have the mod. I'm far too stupid to understand how to get it into my puter (a mac)

You are correct. It is built in game.Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Jelenedra on 2009 July 07, 18:10:27 Huzzah! Problem solved.
Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 07, 18:19:10 In which case I am a deal too stupid to know how to reset ;)
Forgive the mac-using ignorance. How do I reset the sim? (back in the good old days I had the Lot debugger...feels all nostalgic) Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Roflganger on 2009 July 07, 18:21:17 CTRL-SHift-C to bring up the cheat console.
Type "resetsim firstname lastname" without the quotes, and replacing firstname lastname with the Sim's actual first name and last name. They'll respawn somewhere near their front door, hopefully corrected. Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 07, 18:23:22 Thank you. I will try that.
Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 18, 17:16:47 Sorry to commit the heinous netcrime of necromancy but the reset cheat code just dosen't seem to work for me. I can open the console with no problems (I often use moveobjects on/off with it) but nothing happens when I use resetsim (first name last name etc)
This is more than a bit annoying as I am constantly suffering the missing trait glitch and most of my born in game sims end up with only four traits. Some cheat codes always were a bit dodgy on the mac. Boolprop was unreliable at best and some things never worked properly. This is a reasonably powerful machine, well within spec. Any ideas? Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 18, 17:36:09 I don't have awesomemod. I just cannot work out how to install it even with the framework. The files show up but nothing changes.
testingcheats is definitely switched on. Title: Re: I know this bug has been reported before. In addition Post by: Mazza on 2009 July 18, 17:50:04 If you look above to earlier in the thread Jelnedra, A senator on MATY, told me this was a game feature and not a function of awesomemod. Surely this person knew their stuff.
