You can't download it without registering though. Complete list of changes: * Addresses some issues with Speed 2 and 3 moving too slowly. Some machines will have better results when using Speed 2 and 3 now. * Fix to story progression on/off selection toggle. * Fix for a possible crash with audio code. * Fix for babysitter routing off lots with babies. * Addresses some issues with Vsync and refresh rate problems. * Addresses some issues with DVD authentication errors and drive compatibility on startup. * This update deals with some issues on Mac systems that can crash the game while connecting to AFP servers. * Fix for a freeze that can occur when Sims attempt to clean out bad food from the fridge. No stopping the random move-outs then? Moderator edit: Installation problems? Try this: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,15590.msg448078.html#msg448078 Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: minx on 2009 June 25, 19:58:11 im registered/logged in/the whole shebang and it still won't download properly for me. don't waste your time, its making the game unplayable for alot of people.. new crashes and bugs left and right.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Nevearo on 2009 June 25, 20:01:50 The patch doesn't work if you have certain mods, like the Nudity mod, installed.
The sims likes to censor me on their official forums. Too many of my statements end up critical to EA, so I have a question for anyone who can figure it out regarding the patch... Can anyone tell me which of the 8 items required the changing of the file to a degree that I am unable to patch because I installed the nudity mod? Did they at least fix the performance issue not having the nudity mod caused? I have this paranoid suspicion that this took so long in coming because they spent so much of their effort closing loopholes in modding. Do I have some random insights coming here, or is it pure paranoia? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Mootilda on 2009 June 25, 20:04:02 http://www.thesims3.com/game/patches/-1206416818 You can't download it without registering though. Post by: Roflganger on 2009 June 25, 20:13:46 No stopping the random move-outs then? I have a feeling they don't see that as a bug, but as a "feature". Which is why I'm not even bothering with the patch - Pescado has already fixed the actual bugs, as well as the ones EA put in on purpose. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: tizerist on 2009 June 25, 20:20:02 Will the no-cd part of the awesome mod work after patching, or will we need a new crack?
I don't really want 'please insert disk' messages and all that flaff. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Drakron on 2009 June 25, 20:41:30 Does not affect the awesome mod.
I am not registered and installed it just fine ... using the launcher that does not care if you are registered or not, also I did not noticed any immediate crashes. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: tizerist on 2009 June 25, 20:52:44 But regarding my cracked exe, it would be an out of date executable now, right?
We probably need a new no-cd, otherwise you've got a 'cocktail of death' or something.. :P Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Mazza on 2009 June 25, 21:21:17 Only this to EA

Post by: dilpill on 2009 June 25, 22:15:29 After reinstalling again, and installing the EA Store stuff before the patch, everything is working now. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Slymenstra on 2009 June 25, 23:30:12 I patched and have awesomemod installed. I don't have any issues.
The only thing I saw that annoyed me was the babysitter had the baby in his hand then went to leave and jumped out and disappeared and my baby was on the ground outside. I am glad he left the baby, but would be nice if he stuck it back in the crib. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Zaphod Beeblebrox on 2009 June 25, 23:40:07 OK, it's been noted elsewhere that having the original version of the No Censor Mod (not Rick's) was causing the patch install to fail at 77%. So I replaced that one with my backup, and downloaded Rick's mod. Got to 81% this time, and it failed. Would Delphy's slider (I only have the Body Slider Hack) cause any issues? Or the No Intro Mod? I know it's not Awesomemod because others are able to install the patch with it in.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Mooingloudly on 2009 June 25, 23:55:15 I patched my game with awesomemodnstalled. I did get the mysterious start up crash of doom! on first load up but now it's working properly. My speed three problems seem to be corrected as well which is nice.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Scottnc on 2009 June 26, 00:08:40 OK, it's been noted elsewhere that having the original version of the No Censor Mod (not Rick's) was causing the patch install to fail at 77%. I know it's not Awesomemod because others are able to install the patch with it in. I removed all mods and replaced them one by one til I found the culprit on my game. The only one causing my game to crash on the load screen was the 'facialhack.package'. After I removed this, everything loaded properly. Hope this helps. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Doc Doofus on 2009 June 26, 00:09:04 I'll let you guys be the guinea pigs for the patch. (And isn't it disgusting that a patch needs guinea pigs at all? It undermines the whole intent of a patch.) From what I read of the improvements, it sounds like there's nothing there to make it worth the hassle. I'll wait for patch 2.0.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: vincemw on 2009 June 26, 00:15:40 The patch works fine for me, haven't had a crash yet. I have a few nudity mods and an uncensor mod too, as well as several other mods
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: morriganrant on 2009 June 26, 00:45:18 I removed all mods and replaced them one by one til I found the culprit on my game. The only one causing my game to crash on the load screen was the 'facialhack.package'. After I removed this, everything loaded properly. Hope this helps. If that is for reducing the restrictions on the facial sliders then that conflicts with AwesomeMod, AwesomeMod has included that. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: eforrest on 2009 June 26, 01:20:55 Don't download it! It's a mess of a patch. My game now crashes every single time my sim tries to use a phone.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: modelchick on 2009 June 26, 01:32:33 Could someone be so kind as to provide the original shaders package file to reverse the no censor mod. I'm getting the update failure too. I totally forgot to back up the file.

Silly me I should've known it'd be there. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: ciane on 2009 June 26, 01:56:26 I moved all my sub-folders out of the mods folder and only kept AwesomeMod and noIntro packages. The patch and game loading seemed to work fine. I am even sure that I used phones after patching without any problems.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Malapietra on 2009 June 26, 02:01:51 I'm getting an invalid file found while trying to update. Can someone provide the contents from this folder and upload them for me please?
Game\Bin\HelpPages\CZE_CZ\ It's specifically crashing on: Game\Bin\HelpPages\CZE_CZ\Help_Updates.html but I figure I'd copy the entire contents of the folder. I have the RLD version updated to RZR but without the 632 patch. I can find the files on the game disc but it does nothing to copy them over to game directory so I'm guessing it's a problem from RLD version Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Bass Junkie on 2009 June 26, 02:05:52 http://rapidshare.com/files/248708366/CZE_CZ.rar
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Malapietra on 2009 June 26, 02:19:15 Your file worked great and there was indeed a discrepancy with the Help_Updates.html file. It seems however there is a problem with the other Help_Updates.html files from that same folder. Now it's whining about the DAN_DK Help_Updates.html file. I must again request if you could upload the entire contents from the HelpPages (~500KB)?
Thanks for any help. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: smokeverbs on 2009 June 26, 03:19:01 Fuck this patch. Awesomemod is all the patches we need.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Bass Junkie on 2009 June 26, 03:45:19 Only because I'm feeling nice - http://rapidshare.com/files/248725053/HelpPages.rar
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Malapietra on 2009 June 26, 04:42:54 YES! That did the trick Bass Junkie. It installed with no problems after I replaced my HelpPages with the ones you provided. It'll surely come in handy for people who have the RLD to RZR version of the game.
Many thanks! Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Zaphod Beeblebrox on 2009 June 26, 05:07:29 Fuck, I've taken out various mods and still can't get the bastard to move past 81%. Considering that I've heard that it gives you more crashes, new bugs, a longer loading time, and possibly AIDS, I think I'll do like I did for Sims 2 and just rely on Pescado's fixes.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Bass Junkie on 2009 June 26, 05:10:51 Fuck, I've taken out various mods and still can't get the bastard to move past 81%. Considering that I've heard that it gives you more crashes, new bugs, a longer loading time, and possibly AIDS, I think I'll do like I did for Sims 2 and just rely on Pescado's fixes. Have you tried the HelpPages that apparently worked for Malapietra? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Zaphod Beeblebrox on 2009 June 26, 05:58:48 Mine's crashing on the fucking Launcher for some reason. I haven't tried the HelpPages because 1. that's not where the installer is failing, and 2. I have the non-arred (bought in a store) version.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Rockermonkey on 2009 June 26, 06:24:58 The patch just plain sucks XD. I'm getting extreme lag. And apparently I'm not the only one. My loading screen went from 10 seconds to a minutes but is now down to about 20 blahhh.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: lonelyfae on 2009 June 26, 07:27:41 I downloaded the patch that was supposed to work with my region (Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe) from the link provided by Pes but when I tried to run it it comes up with this error:
The setup has detected that the installed game region for this update is incorrect. I did check the version the launcher is showing and it is in fact 1.0.631.00002, I also tried the one for 000001 and get the same error. Anyone having the same issue? or any advice as to how to fix this? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 June 26, 07:52:13 Find out what version you DO have, and substitute the number accordingly. Your IP lists you as being from .ar, so I have no idea what region they have.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Rockermonkey on 2009 June 26, 07:53:45 Guys, I need help. My disc is randomly ejecting itself now. :'(. I do not get what is up with this patch, because it sucks. Is there a way to do away with it?
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: lonelyfae on 2009 June 26, 08:08:09 Find out what version you DO have, and substitute the number accordingly. Your IP lists you as being from .ar, so I have no idea what region they have. .ar would stand for Argentina... which would be relevant if I would have bought a copy of the game in my country... As said in my post the version listed on the sims launcher is 1.0.631.00002 But since I downloaded the Reloaded version and later patched it to change it to the Razor version in order to make the downloads work I am not sure if that would be accurate or not, is there any other way to check the version besides the horror that is the launcher? I did have to copy the original cracked version of the sims 3 .exe after doing that since the game was crashing on the loading screen, that would be the file that came with the Reloaded version. I wonder if maybe that made a hybrid version... Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: witch on 2009 June 26, 08:08:55 Guys, I need help. My disc is randomly ejecting itself now. :'(. Is there a way to do away with it? ...why are you messing with the disk still? Take it out, put it in a safe place, and use AWESOMEMOD.Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Inge on 2009 June 26, 11:40:48 Is anyone here *not* using awesomemod and can confirm EA did fix the story progression disablement properly?
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 June 26, 11:44:24 Yes, yes, we know, you're just chomping at the bit to be able to rip it out.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Razamataz on 2009 June 26, 12:45:04 Just like so many others, I had the error and patch failed, But with some searching I found the problem. If you remove the file "Shaders_Win32.precomp" from your The Sims 3/Game/Bin and replace it with the one from your CD it works. I dont know if something in game, or elsewhere changed this file but the Patch dosen't think its the correct file and errors out.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: chaos on 2009 June 26, 13:00:31 It's the very first "no mosaic" hack that causes the problem. If you have the old hack that changes the shader properties, then the patch won't install. If you have the newer "no mosaic" hack, that changes the Resource.cfg file under Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3, and installs a package file under Mods/Packages, then the patch will install.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: tizerist on 2009 June 26, 14:23:11 I can't install either patch posted by Pescado. Incorrect game region.
I replaced Shaders_Win32.precomp with the one from the disc too. And I inserted the new help pages. Doing it from the launcher moans about not having EA download manager. We still don't want this right? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: savioaraujo on 2009 June 26, 14:43:30 I was having the wrong region issue, but edited on the registry a number, and it 'worked' fine... Unfortunately I got another error, 'File not found'. So I discovered the reason: the patch doesn't recognize the game, 'cause it's installed on F:\ hd, and not on C:\... :-\ I copied and pasted the Bin folder from F to C, and it stopped at 7%, requiring another file out of Bin..
My game isn't original. I downloaded it from Pescado link. I also tried to open the patch with the Resource Hacker, but I didn't find anything... ??? Does someone know how to fix this? :P Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: jaccirocker on 2009 June 26, 15:23:51 I'm also having the wrong region issue. I reinstalled the game. I'm using razor patched reloaded version. In the skutext it has the .0002 so I got the matching patch and it still didn't work. I downloaded the HelpPages and still no go. The only other thing I can think of is when Pescasdo says change the number, but I don't know what the number is, where it's located and how to change it. If anyone knows please tell me.

Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: savioaraujo on 2009 June 26, 16:58:53 Not only change the 00002 to 7.. You must change it to 00107. So, HERE (http://na.llnet.eadownloads.ea.com/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.2.7.00107_from_1.0.631.00107.exe) the link. ::)

Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Nameless on 2009 June 26, 19:53:26 Bass Junkie...the replacement of the HelpPages did it for me as well... thanks! Would you be so kind to upload them , too?
Cheers! Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Lady Moiraine on 2009 June 26, 20:11:24 I removed all custom content, installed the patch. so i just installed the latest version of awesomemod after updating with the EAxis patch at first everything seemed to be working fine. until i noticed that ALL of my sims had lost 2 job ranks, or were about to lose their second job rank my starter in the athletic career is now a minor leaguer, my lieutenant is down to desk jockey, and my squad leader is down to grunt whats more is that even my workaholic sims are skipping work entirely i dont know if this is awesomemod or the new patch doing it but something is terribly, terribly wrong Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: JacquiES on 2009 June 26, 21:10:55 This is probably a dumb question but do I need the patch for the current build of awesomemod to work? Awesomemod seems to fix everything I have an issue with and this patch doesn't really do anything for me.

When I sent my sims to bed, they just stood in front of their beds for sim-hours before finally getting in, at like 4 in the morning when I sent them around midnight! It was absolutely ridiculous. I hadn't had this problem before the patch, or at least not to this extent. Title: Re: Patch released. I downloaded the mod that works with the patch- installed- moved it to my desktop- rebooted the pc- reinstalled the awesomemod- then downloaded the scriptenabler and installed it- moved it to desktop- rebooted- reinstalled. Now it's working fine. There is no rhyme or reason to this. It is just that the start-up crash thing is so random I figured if I did random crap to my computer/game it might "fix" itself. So far so good. All I can say is- wash, rinse, repeat and pray it works. :P Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: witch on 2009 June 26, 23:07:50 Hmm. I am getting an error saying it won't work on "this version" of the game. I tried the Razor version patch, since I have arr-style Ts3. I did the same rohina, it wouldn't work on mine either. Pescado said I'd need to get a new torrent with the real version. I think the RAZOR one may have updated the game past where the EAxis patch starts - but that's just me supposing. ::) My error was a locale one. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Marhis on 2009 June 26, 23:22:19 Another possibility is that the Mac version got an earlier patch already; it was for the launcher, so if you didn't apply that before, maybe now it's throwing a fit.

Yeah, Pescado, I know I should have done that in the first place when it kept failing, so that's my own epic failure. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Sigmund on 2009 June 27, 06:43:32 All right. After much trepidation I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet, and can confirm that I was able to successfully patch the arrr'd Razor version on a mac, using the link provided by Marhis. However, I did previously install the launcher update, so I'm not sure if that affected it or not. (For some reason, prior to this the game refused to load until the launcher was updated, even when not running directly from it.)
I also installed the latest version of AwesomeMod, with no glaringly obvious problems yet. There were no error messages when installing the patch, and (knock on wood) no crashes when loading the game, though I only tried it once. I didn't have much time to test out gameplay, but there is now a more noticeable difference between speeds 2 and 3. <snip> In the Mac side I found this as the corresponding entry in the registry: Quote [Software\\Sims\\The Sims 3] 1246040350 "Country"="IT" "DisplayName"="The Sims 3" "Install Dir"="C:\\Program Files\\EA Play\\The Sims 3" "Locale"="en-US" "SKU"=dword:00000001 "Telemetry"=dword:00000000 SKU is apparently set to 1, though, I don't know what this means :/. The only thing I saw that annoyed me was the babysitter had the baby in his hand then went to leave and jumped out and disappeared and my baby was on the ground outside. I am glad he left the baby, but would be nice if he stuck it back in the crib. Mine did this without the patch. Well... I was watching and saw the babysitter start to leave, so I clicked on the baby and chose an interaction... change diaper, I think. Then then the babysitter jumped out, disappeared, leaving the baby on the floor. So maybe my interacting did it, and the patch makes it happen automatically? And is it just me, or are the babysitters worse than the nannies were in TS2? I had a house with a toddler and two infants and by the time the parents got home from a funeral they were all orange-mood and desperate to be fed. The babysitter, meanwhile, was standing on the porch. Ugh. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: pennyhugo on 2009 June 27, 08:04:37 I've patched mine, see where the patch stops for files not found and change those files in the game bin. I have the RZR one and patched it also from RZR's patch. File errors were skuversion, Shader_Win32.precomp, and TSLHost.dll. In skuversion, I just changed GameVersion to RZR's version unpatched, took out the Shader_Win32.precomp and TSLHost.dll files from RZR's ISO and replaced the files from the Game/Bin. Patched it with the latest patch after taking all the Mods and Resource file and deleted all cache files from My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and voila! it worked. No hangs and freezes but Im also looking out if there'll be bugs...
Hope this helps.... xoxox Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: tizerist on 2009 June 27, 09:28:06 I think I'm gonna get a new TS3 (released version) for this issue as my reloaded > razor version just isn't co-operating with any of my three patches and various files have been added/modded.

Here's what to do:
First download this file: http://rapidshare.com/files/249397309/patch_fix.rar.html (http://rapidshare.com/files/249397309/patch_fix.rar.html) CAN SOMEONE PLEASE RE-HOST IT SINCE RAPIDSHARE ONLY ALLOWS 10 FREE D/Ls!!! Note: This is for region 2 (ie. European version) of TS3. If you have the region 1 (ie. US version) then please seek help elsewhere. To find out which version you have, open TS3 game launcher and check lower left corner. Then quickly close the launcher for it will open a portal to the depths of hell and release evils of unimaginable horror. 1. Modify HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sims\The Sims 3\SKU value to 2 (For 32bit, the key is under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Sims\The Sims 3). If you're on XP, GBAD for all the shit you've been giving us Vista users. 2. Extract content of the above package and override the files in your TS3 folder. 3. Apply the Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe (http://na.llnet.eadownloads.ea.com/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe) patch. 4. Apply Awesomemod (cause it's awesome and TS3 would not be worth playing w/o it) 5. ??? 6. PROFIT!!! More Note: If you got *bleep* over by Reloaded like I did, you need to download a patch that will replace the FullBuild0.package file. The correct file size should be 1,023,864,748 bytes. If you don't know how to get it, you do not deserve to play this game. Credit: - I stole all the files off the interwebs, mostly from this board. - Awesomemod is made by J. M. Pescado, who shall always be praised as the one true god. Also if you're the FBI looking for a scapegoat, he's the mastermind behind it all. - The credit for other files I'm too lazy to look up or list. I claim no authority over them nor responsiblity. Use at your own risk. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Rowla on 2009 June 28, 01:50:05 OK, it's been noted elsewhere that having the original version of the No Censor Mod (not Rick's) was causing the patch install to fail at 77%. I removed all mods and replaced them one by one til I found the culprit on my game. The only one causing my game to crash on the load screen was the 'facialhack.package'. After I removed this, everything loaded properly. Hope this helps. Thanks that helped me! http://www.sendspace.com/file/vu1qjk (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vu1qjk) Also, the file is basically the game \ bin folder from the original EU version install. It has all the help files, the sims3launcher.resource.package files (especially that cs-CZ one that's causing problems), as well as the main executable file, launcher file, and the sku version text file. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Billmonaghan on 2009 June 28, 19:57:32 You rawk. You just so fucking rawk. Thank you. Thank you. My deal was as such: I had no immediate need for the patch. Between the base game, awesome mod, some hack of the Shaders_Win32 file and the familyfunds cheat, I can play the game pretty much the way I want. But I thought I'd better install the EAxis patch as they're going to end up foisting these improvements on me in some future patch or EP or whatever, that plus I'm going need to keep current with awesomemod. After a couple failed efforts to install the patch after installing the patch-compatible version of awesomemod, I move all my MATY files off to the side and found the installer was conking out at my altered copy of the shaders file. I tried installing after taking that file out, and the install stalled because of the lack of that file. I was able to play without the patch, but I was getting some minor graphic weirdness, like eyeshadow showing through women's bangs and chess pieces completely rearranging on the board with every move. Little stuff. But I still didn't have the patch in, so I's still going to be screwed in some future update. I was wondering if there was somewhere I could get an unhacked version of that shaders file, and found it right were Bass Junkie stashed it. I plugged it in, installed the patch, replaced the shader file in the Bin folder with the Sim-porn-friendly version and then put all my awesome-mod-related files back and everyting''s running fine again. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Billmonaghan on 2009 June 28, 19:59:22 Next AwesomeMod will include specialized, fine-tuned no-nudity-censor controls. Even better news. I'm still thankful for the unnamed pioneer who provided the hacked Shaders file, but I'd much rather have something that you've integrated into awesomemod. Title: Re: Patch released. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: jpinard on 2009 June 28, 22:15:18 You rawk. What is the hack for the shader file for? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Billmonaghan on 2009 June 28, 23:35:38 What is the hack for the shader file for? That Shader_Win32etc file apparently is what creates that censor blur around Sims when they satisfy their Bladder and Hygiene Needs. I downloaded a replacement file somewhere that does something -- sets the blur to zero or something -- that removes the blur.I couldn't install the patch with the hacked one in there and I couldn't install the patch with no Shader_Winetc file in there, so I had to get an unmolested copy and put it in the /game/bin folder temporarily, just long enough to install the patch. Then I replaced it with the hacked one and everything seems to be running fine after, like, 10 minutes of testing. One other, kinda serious thing that went wrong when I had the latest Awesomemod w/o the patch was the game would freeze on the load screen when I tried to use the mirror [sim name] cheat, and I think the dresser cheat too. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: jrcaporal on 2009 June 29, 02:50:05 Well, I can confirm it does work for the Demonoid Image+Mini-Image NRG file, no problems at all.

I'll tell you first that I did manage to patch the game with no trouble at all once I followed Pescado's instructions (in the Awesome Mod download thread) on changing numbers in the link for whatever version you need. Unfortunately, on an identical twin computer, with an identical install of the Sims, the patch refuses to work. It continues to give the error message that the version is incorrect, despite the skuversion.txt file being the same as mine. I came here to lurk for help, so I'll be checking the registry of the other computer as soon as I can, with great hope that somehow it altered itself. For reference, I'm running Vista 32 on both machines, sp1, I believe, though I've no idea if there are any others. As a note of interest, the computer having trouble with the patch also suffers the random load screen crashes while the easily patched computer has never been so unlucky. Title: Re: Patch released. After exporting my own entry and inserting into the other computer's, the patch worked just fine. Post by: alia on 2009 July 02, 08:32:32 Having trouble patching? Here's what to do: First download this file: Note: This is for region 2 (ie. 3. Apply the [url=http://na.llnet.eadownloads.ea.com/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe]Sims3_1.2.7.00002_from_1.0.631.00002.exe (http://www.sendspace.com/file/vu1qjk[/url) patch. I have region 2 game and this worked for me without having to modify any keys. (I tried looking for the key but couldn't find it, so perhaps I'm just not awesome enough. :-\) Anyways, worked like a charm. Thanks! :D Title: Re: Patch released. The latest version of Pescado's Awesomemod will not work without the latest patch from EA? Correct. Pescado has already answered this question, probably more than once, but I only caught it the first time. Also, the information is on the Awesome Mod download page that the patch is now figured into the mod.Quote from: Audrey If that is the case, I need to download a version of the patch in order to have my game speed up and also to access Pescado's latest hacks? Correct. You need to bring your game from whatever version you have to 127.Quote from: Audrey Checking in the .sku file I have version 615 of the Sims 3. I bought my game in South Africa. This, I believe, is partially why no one has answered thus far. I, myself, have seen perhaps only one other mention of a version 615, and no patch links were involved. It's my understanding that your best bet is to go the official route and ask your regional customer service about the problem. If all else fails, succumb to the evil of the launcher and pray for the best.Quote from: Audrey Please can somebody guide me step by step through what patch I need to download to get it and awesomemod working in my game. That's not likely to happen, for the reason mentioned in my above statement, and because if the information is available, it's already in this thread or another.Quote from: Audrey Editing to say that if I can't get the patch working after someone kindly directs me on what to do, then how do I get the previous version of Awesomemod back assuming my first sentence is correct. You didn't get them because all of the answers you requested are already available.Quote from: Audrey My next problem is that I reinstalled awesomemod pre patch version because I couldn't use the most recent version because I need help to install the patch. You stated this a little too vaguely to truly describe what's happening. Did you actually type out "setconfig cassliderscaleincreased true" and it came up as unknown? My problem with typing in the commands is that I almost always put an extra 'S' at the end of "cas", resulting in error. If you've ruled these common issues out, it narrows down the possibilities. It helps potential repliers offer viable solutions if they know what you've already ruled out on your own. Also, give exact version numbers, like 1.0.615.00003 instead of just "615", as I can't imagine most would know every region number available. On occasion, it also helps to know what operating system you're running, so people can provide you with "step-by-step" instructions that actually pertain to your setup.I went into showconfig to see all the options. I want to enable the CAS slider range so I typed in EXACTLY what the code was followed by the : True and it came up with 'unknown command cassliderscaleincreased. So then I tried itwithout the : and it still came up with the same error message. Quote from: Audrey Could anyone kindly enlighten me as to what I need to do to fix this problem. I really need the facial sliders. I had to chuckle at this, because it seems that asking someone to do something "kindly" almost never results in a kindly done action. Especially not here. So I don't know if it matters, but I renamed my crack exe something else and reused the original's exe. Opened the launcher, I have the US version so...yeah. I didn't have to register, and I didn't. Installed patch, and closed everything. Reused the crack exe, and my game is up and running. And I have the awesome mod installed, and it still works. Tested by using maxmotives. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Lorelei on 2009 July 04, 15:47:53 I'm officially frustrated, and have limited free time to PLAY TS3, much less time to dink around with patches that refuse to work. RAWR!
Nutshell: Originally had RLD, updated to RZR. Patches here ( http://www.simprograms.com/the-sims-3-patches/patches-the-sims-3/ ) say "the installed game region is incorrect." I tried both, to be sure. Botheration. Game version claims to be 1.0.631.00002. Tried replacing default Shaders_Win32.precomp, in case the altered Shaders_Win32.precomp was causing the problem. No go. Tried removing Packages folder. No go. Tried swapping out default skuversion.txt file for recommended new skuversion.txt file. Nope. Fail. Also, not that it seems like it would matter, but I removed my four Cache files before trying to update, because I was installing new content and some pattern packages. Did I miss any other suggestions in this thread I could try? I'm re-reading, but it looks like the other suggestions refer to non-00002 versions, or include stuff I have already tried. NOW what? Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: firerayne on 2009 July 04, 20:30:41 Can anyone help me, I removed my mods installed the patch which crashed halfway thru now its made my game implode! I want to reinstall but I need to back up all the stuff i put in with the sims instaler but where is it kept? I can't find it please help!!
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Muffinator on 2009 July 05, 04:31:42 Has anyone figured out how to fix the patch stalling on sims3Launcher.exe? I've tried reinstalling, to see if it was just an outdated launcher, but that seemed to do nothing but waste my time. Do you have Rick & Delphy's CAS Slider Hack? If you do, delete the files and install the newly updated ones for the patch. My launcher kept crashing and then I had checked my hacks for updates. I updated that file and was able to install things again. It's late and time for sleeping, so I haven't tried to play my game again tonight, but am hoping the damn thing works. I am also hoping that the patch fixes the stupid restart your computer 3 times before you can play thing I have going on. But I'm not holding my breath. Title: Re: Patch released. Someone has recorded some instructions here in this clip (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/crapola/idiot.wav).Editing to say that if I can't get the patch working after someone kindly directs me on what to do, then how do I get the previous version of Awesomemod back assuming my first sentence is correct. There are no previous versions of Awesomemod. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Now, that isn't very nice is it, Mr Pescado? Post by: Roflganger on 2009 July 07, 13:27:17 In the interest of fairness, I will point out that in South Africa, downloading the game is actually not a less expensive alternative to buying it outright, since the price for 5.5 gigs worth of bandwidth exceeds the actual price of the game, and even the fastest DSL connection is slow. Paying someone the equivalent of about $8 USD for their pirated version does make financial sense here.
Paying money for a pirated version of the NON-RETAIL version, however, is stupid. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Zazazu on 2009 July 07, 17:27:45 Well, the moral of the story is that when you pirate, you know you are taking a risk that you won't be able to patch or that what you have might be borked or have a virus tagged on. It happens less and less these days. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen. In any case, you can't really bitch to anyone except who you got the pirated copy from. We can't fix your lack of research.

Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Audrey on 2009 July 07, 22:42:56 Zazazu and Roflganger, thank you for explaining my situation re the bandwidth in SA.
It is prohibitively expensive in SA to download 5.5 gigs as each gig costs R100, and as I could not afford that nor to buy the retail version which was four times the price of the arr'd one, that was my only option. I actually did not know that I would be taking a risk by buying this copy, but it looks like I'm paying for it now with a game which cannot be patched. I thank you for explaining the situation and it may be my fault but financial circumstances dictated my position, so I came on here hoping that there might be a fix. Looks like I will have to get used to the slow speed of sleeping and working. The rest of the game is running peachily and I even downloaded all the content off the EA site and it is working perfectly, so it is not all bad. Judge not, lest ye be judged. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Doc Doofus on 2009 July 07, 22:55:53 I NEVER rush to be the first one to use a new EA patch. I have been burned by EA that way too many times. In most cases, the new patch has introduced newer problems to replace the old ones, ones we usually already understood and had workarounds for.
And sometimes it was absolutely DISASTROUS. I suppose the worst one was the Hot Date patch way back when, which deserves its own Harvard business school study in QA incompetence and trademark self-immolation. Disastrously borked. Everybody complained. EA got defensive and tried to say it was okay. Then weeks later, they acknowledged it was a mistake and removed the patch from the download site. In the meantime, everybody was scrambling to get copies of the original unpatched .EXE because EA provided no way to unpatch. They finally came out with a Hot Date patch v2, just a week or so before the next EP, which was Vacation. And a lot of people wouldn't buy or touch Vacation with a ten-foot pole because there were fears that it would include the borked Hot Date patch. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: minidoxigirli on 2009 July 08, 01:49:24 Oh, God, I remember that. My game was so messed up I had to call Maxis tech support. I was a 12 at the time, so when they told me that I had to delete all my custom content, I did it. I had actually paid for a lot of the stuff- WDS and TSR had just gone pay, if I remember correctly. A subscription is a lot when it's your entire allowance. I was so pissed when I found out that the CC had nothing to do with my issues.
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: witch on 2009 July 08, 02:20:08 I remember going to Maxis for help. One of my sims was stuck and I'd clicked 'delete' or something. The Maxoid gimp told me my sim was non-recoverable once deleted, so I trashed my hood. Then on the forums I discovered that a deleted sim just appears by the letterbox on the next lot load. I was spewing. I've never bothered with their their tech help - or that of EAxis - ever since.

Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Leticron on 2009 July 10, 19:25:24 It seems that the amount of files declared as bad differs with almost every installation. Some people only had to change a few files while I had to exchange almost the complete bin folder, the complete /bin/bin folder and the complete /bin/help folder.
Which makes absolutely no sense to me - why should it matter to a game installed in en-US, that some help file in cc-CZ fails the checksum test. Hell why would the game (in worldwide edition) even install some 20 extra languages that clearly never going to be used. Just another EAXis fail (one carried over from TS2 already) I think you don't have a choice but to start the patch process over and download/replace according to the error messages until the whole process goes through. The alternative would be to d/l an actual torrent/DDL preferably with an already patched version of TS3. -le Title: Re: Patch released. I've moved the mod directory from the install folder, deleted the cache files and moved my saved games but it still won't pick up an update. Is there anywhere to download the patch from directly?

Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Miao on 2009 July 29, 14:48:30 Alright, so I downloaded the patch, took out the mods, replaced the modified VideoCamera.ini with the original, and installed the patch. It successfully installed, so I put my mods back in, including the newest version of AwesomeMod (the one which is compatible with the newest patch), and deleted all the cache files. The game loads just fine, but the instant I click the "Play" button, the game crashes. It's happened three times before. Here's an excerpt from the text file, for those who can decipher this stuff, generated after the crash:
Quote [Exception info] type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00000000 address: 0x00ba3b35 "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\game\bin\TS3.exe":0x0001:0x007a2b35 EDIT: I took out all mods except AwesomeMod, and now I can finally load my saved games. I have a store-bought copy of the game. Any help is appreciated. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Larku on 2009 July 29, 19:54:42 I'm having trouble installing the patch.
I've got a legal version of the game, and it gives me a error twice with installing it. I thought I'd try Witch's Bin.rar they put up to see if it'd help. Now it won't even tell me there is a update and it's still sitting at 1.2.7. Thinking I might have to just reinstall in general. Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Klondike on 2009 July 29, 20:08:32 Just a question about the camera hack .ini file.. Can I put it back into my game after I patch, or will it mess it up? I know to put back in the original for patching purposes, but do I need to keep it out permanently?
Title: Re: Patch released. Post by: Zaphod Beeblebrox on 2009 July 29, 21:10:34 So...after replacing damn near everything (Gamedata and Bin folders), the patch is still throwing errors, but this time, it's the damn Launcher that's giving me problems, according to the log. Anyone got any suggestions before I reinstall the game?

It seems not compatible with patch1.3. You may not be able to bring up Game Option panel, right? The "enablescripterror.package" causes the error you just described. Title: Re: Patch released. The "enablescripterror.package" causes the error you just described. You just need to have the correct version of enablescripterror.package. There's a version for the base game and one for each patch: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=359796 |
