Title: Poor man's Resurrect-o-nomitron and stuff
Post by: Marhis on 2009 March 07, 00:17:37
I've always thought that the resurrect-o-nomitron idea has a lot of potential, in game, but thanks to EAxis it's made of phail. Proof is that nearly everybody gets it with the cheat and then thinks up of interesting ways to use it in their stories, not surprisingly with better results than the lame default game mechanics.

I've had many ideas about the use of resurrect-o-nomitron, but after many tries I gave up, since they were too complicated to implement, for me. Eventually, I came out with a quite simplified modification that, at least, pleases me more than the original one.

In a nutshell:

- Paranormal sims will obtain the career object the usual way, they'll have the ability to resurrect anybody (not only those sims they already knew), they can make zombies and scramble the personality of the resurrected ones.

- Regular sims, instead, may acquire a similar object - the poor man's resurrect-o-nomitron - with aspiration points (16,500). They can only resurrect sims (no zombies nor scrambled personalities), the resurrection will cost more (not 1§ less than 10,000), they can resurrect only sims they already knew when alive. In addition, they can't deal with Death directly, but only with his aide.

The aide's part is the main reason why there's no other place I can post this mod than Peasantry; if you'll try it, you'll understand why. ;)

Of course, it requires University EP.
