Title: Disappearing Wants Post by: Becky on 2009 February 21, 22:47:24 Hello,
I've done searches but haven't found info about exactly the same issue. My child sims' wants & fears will disappear (not just the images, because there is no scroll-over text). Once it starts happening to a child, it will persist until they become a teen. When the wants & fears reroll, they will all be there for a second or so before they disappear. Wants & fears that are locked do not disappear. This happens to all or almost all of the children, and I have yet to detect a pattern. Does anyone know if there are particular types of hacks that can create disappearing wants & fears? I saw speculation on one thread that phone hacks may mess with wants & fears, but the issue wasn't exactly the same. This has been happening for a long time, so I know it isn't anything I've downloaded recently. Other than that, I have no idea which hacks to suspect. I have all EPs up to Seasons, plus the H&M stuff pack. Thanks for any and all assistance. Title: Re: Disappearing Wants Post by: Gwill on 2009 February 21, 23:47:44 Probably hack conflict.
Do binary search. Title: Re: Disappearing Wants Post by: rufio on 2009 February 22, 02:43:47 This used to happen to me a lot, and I fixed it by removing wfsanity. No hack conflicts had been detected, other than known conflicts with twojeffs hacks that were supposed to cause no problems.

Title: Re: Disappearing Wants Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 February 22, 04:17:41 If there's an error in the want tree controller, you should get a log. Attach it here and it will be fixed. Otherwise, sometimes wants just go blank because your SWAFs have been truncated, so your sims don't have anything to want.
Title: Re: Disappearing Wants Post by: rufio on 2009 February 22, 05:03:01 Well, I don't remember if I was playing with debug mode on at the time, so I suppose there could have been errors that I didn't see. I don't particularly miss wfsanity now, though, and a hack that I made is very occasionally throwing wants controller errors for no apparent reason, so if that ever gets resolved I'll put it back in to see if it still happens.
