Title: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: kazebird on 2009 February 08, 15:19:29 This month's More FUBAR Than You is a bit late, because I didn't know what to do this month. I eventually settled on Graphical Glitches, as in glitches that have to do with the graphical quality in your game.
I have an example below: (http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/pp348/rybeast08/Sims%202/Sims2Neighbourhood.jpg) Remember that it will be judged based on comedy. Begin! Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: Timoram on 2009 February 09, 11:26:31 Don't know if it's a graphic glitch or a game glitch, those only appear when anti-aliasing is turn on.

My game used to do this. Then I got moar ramz. NO moar triangles! \:d/ Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: Quinctia on 2009 February 10, 04:22:16 I used to get glitches similar to Timoram's with the pools and with window glass.
(http://pics.livejournal.com/quinctia/pic/0019x5re.jpg) The gypsy walking through walls was one of the more amusing snapshots I got of the phenomenon. In my case, the whole issue was solved by turning Smooth Edges on. Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: Shiny on 2009 February 17, 03:47:35 neko, that could be art! What do you see in the graphics card explosion, hmm?
Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: pbox on 2009 February 27, 17:48:01 Ui. My graphics card REALLY doesn't like this game.

(http://i43.tinypic.com/amxwrb.jpg) I know it was probably some catalog reorganization edit I put in that caused it, but it still looked funny enough. It's too bad my graphics card doesn't give me awesomely fubar glitches- it just makes the screen go dead until I restart the whole computer. Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: nekonoai on 2009 February 27, 19:55:36 neko, that could be art! What do you see in the graphics card explosion, hmm? Yeah, it's totally some kind of modern art thing. I think ms. nVidia wants to start a triangularist movement. XDTitle: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: sudaki on 2009 February 27, 20:45:14 Ui. My graphics card REALLY doesn't like this game. Or your graphics card REALLY likes M.C. Escher.*snip* The more I look at that picture, the dizzier I get. Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: SaraMK on 2009 February 27, 23:25:50 Ui. My graphics card REALLY doesn't like this game. Your video card is drunk. Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: pbox on 2009 February 28, 01:06:52 It produced some really advanced ASCII art after this:
(http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d124/pbox/booooom01.jpg) (http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d124/pbox/bbbboooooom02.jpg) (note how in the first pic it doesn't even manage to draw its own window bar?) and then sent the machine into kernel panic when I tried to reboot. Thanks, Aspyr :-* Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: rufio on 2009 February 28, 01:27:21 Just got this one:
(http://i43.tinypic.com/21bltas.jpg) The shiny-looking pattern on the road would move as I moved the camera. It was really trippy. Eventually it fixed itself, though. Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: sudaki on 2009 February 28, 07:46:44 It produced some really advanced ASCII art after this: Jesus! What video card have you got, anyway? My old desktop had a pretty awful NVidia card, but I never saw anything like that. Of course, I never tried running beyond Pets on it....*snip ASCII art* (note how in the first pic it doesn't even manage to draw its own window bar?) and then sent the machine into kernel panic when I tried to reboot. Thanks, Aspyr :-* Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: pbox on 2009 February 28, 11:17:42 It's an 8600M GT (256MB); I don't think the card is the problem here =) It's never done this before; rebooting fixed it. The game just has a lot of graphics issues on the mac, on top of the general bugs.

The game just has a lot of graphics issues on the mac, on top of the general bugs. Oh, Aspyr. At least I've gotten lucky so far....Long ago, I had the old Gunmod lighting hack installed when I added a new expansion, and the result was that everything turned blinding red with the occasional black patch. Removing the lighting mod fixed it, but now I wish I'd taken pictures for this thread. :P Title: Re: More FUBAR Than You February: Graphical Glitches Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2009 February 28, 16:09:25 I don't really think "problems caused by installing other people's dodgy, non-Awesome hacks" qualifies as a problem intrinsic to the game.
