Title: Weird error message when starting Sims 2: Freetime
Post by: Mogart on 2009 January 19, 17:31:50
Whenever I try to start Freetime, it says, "The Sims 2 EP7 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried bypassing the launcher, and my system meets the requirements. What could be going wrong?

A couple of possibilities:
1) bad CC/meshes.  Are you starting your game with your downloads and CC removed?  If not, try that.

2) Securom - Try following the "How to remove securom" directions in the thread in the podium, and get yourself a no-cd crack for FT (make sure you get the correct one for your EP and patch number, if any) from Gamecopyworld to keep securom off.  That may solve the problem.  Never use the launcher.

3) Corrupt cache files?  Delete groups.cache, accessory.cache, et al.
