Title: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: Bleached on 2008 December 24, 03:53:21 I know that most romance sims will get a negative memory attatched to engagement or marriage. However, the other day, a family sim of mine got engaged, and I noticed she recieved a bad memory of it. Her fiancee is a fortune sim, and they both had three lightning bolts for each other. Does anyone know why she would have gotten a bad memory? Does it have to do with zodiac signs or something?

Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: Gwill on 2008 December 24, 11:25:18 Is it a bug? I thought it was some kind of inconsistent feature related to secondary personality.
Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: caterpillar on 2008 December 24, 17:00:15 I just had the same thing happen in my game, a Family Sim, with no secondary aspiration, got a bad memory for his engagement to a Fortune Sim. The Fortune Sim got the expected good memory.
I have all eps up to AL, and I did patch FT. Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 December 24, 17:02:47 Is AL patched?
Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: caterpillar on 2008 December 24, 18:22:46 Yes, it is.
I don't know if this is relevant, but the newly engaged Sims are YAs. Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: Alex on 2008 December 24, 18:55:20 I'd just like to say that I previously mentioned this occurring to me, with a fully up-to-date and patched game. So it's not just those two.
Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: Chinchillagrl on 2008 December 24, 21:41:55 That's odd. I had Nina Caliente (Romance) and Don Lothorio (Romance) get engaged and both had a positive memory. I have all EP/SP including M&G.
Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: eevilcat on 2008 December 24, 23:11:32 I'm not sure if it's related, but some of my sims fall out of love on getting engaged such that one or both have to fall in love again so that the propose option appears for them to then marry. Sometimes the engagement kiss is enough to have them fall in love again but other times it isn't. I'm also patched all the way through.

Sometimes the engagement kiss is enough to have them fall in love again but other times it isn't. I'm also patched all the way through. I'm finding the opposite. My sims fall in love again when they get engaged. I often macro/socialise romantic until both of them fall in love then propose. I'm also finding existing loves and crushes for other sims get wiped upon engagement. Sometimes I have my sims fall in love with several other sims before engagement/marriage and I want them to stay in love with the sims they chose not to marry. Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: LadyArgonna on 2008 December 25, 10:40:55 Kyna, I think there's a hack in the DC - dropoldloves? that causes what you're talking about. I too have had the bad memory, but this was a 2LB couple who were fortune and popularity. The popularity got the bad memory. Go figure.
Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: Lord Darcy on 2008 December 25, 11:44:41 Twojeffs has a hack (http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php/topic,16.0.html) that fixes this bug.
Quote Engagement Memory Fix Fixes a bug that can cause a sim to get the wrong (bad/good) type of engagement memory. Title: Re: Bad memory of an engagement Post by: J. M. Pescado on 2008 December 25, 13:24:16 I have found a second place that this glitch occurs while fixing I was fixing this earlier that Jeffy didn't catch, albeit a more minor glitch, since it fires on secondary aspiration in addition to primary, whereas the main propose code only gives red memory for primary. I have rolled this into the ft fix.
