Title: I think I have borked my game. Post by: ksstrek on 2008 December 16, 12:38:26 I have all the EP's and SP's and my game was working fine until this morning. I have multiple mods and CC, but never a real problem until I created a custom Shopping district for Belladonna Cove. It is the only game supplied neighborhood I have. The other neighborhood I play is a custom that I created from EA template that I have played for 2 years with EA created downtown, Uni , etc. All other Ea neighborhoods have been deleted along with their EA families.
After I created the custom shopping district using the Bluewater village template, I returned to Belladonna cove and tried to enter a family house. the game quit. Ok, I thought maybe I hit the wrong key . the game will no longer open. It doesn't get past the loading screen now and then either freezes, or quits. I rebooted my computer hoping that might help. It did not. Do I have any recourse aside from removing and reinstalling everything? If not , how can I salvage my 2 year old neighborhood? It's also ok to make fun of me, I have probably brought this all on myself with some misdeed. I admit to being only semi computer literate.. Title: Re: I think I have borked my game. Post by: ksstrek on 2008 December 16, 12:56:30 Downloads folder is out. The game still doesn't load. Somehow I think it may be related to the deletion of EA's Bluewater village the creation of the custom shoppng district, since everything worked fine until then.

Title: Re: I think I have borked my game. Post by: ksstrek on 2008 December 16, 13:51:10 Did that. Now the game starts to load but still quits. G uess I might try reinstalling OFB, if that fails reinstalling everything. Other suggestions are welcome. Thanx for all the advice.

Post by: Simsample on 2008 December 16, 17:13:58 No point reinstalling the game until you have actually determined whether the problem is with the game install, or just your userdata (the files in your Documents folder). A quick test is to cut and paste your Sims 2 folder from Documents\ EA Games to the desktop. Start the game. If it loads, the problem is with your old userdata (hoods or custom content usually). If the game doesn't load, go ahead and reinstall. The most stupid thing to do would be to reinstall then put your old userdata back, only to find it still crashes.
