Title: problem with custom hood terrain
Post by: arogers on 2008 December 11, 17:43:37
I created a new default grass for my neighborhood. it appears okay but when zoomed out, lines appear where the textures meet. can I fix it? ???

Have you tried to make it seamless?

yes it's seamless. the lines themselves are thick and white and only appear when zoomed out.

How big did you make the original texture?

lot roads are 512 x 512
nhood roads are 256 x 256
terrain textures are 512 x 512, 256x 256

I used the greenergrassterrain by mzcynnamon as a template and just edited those without chaning any sizes.

Try downloading another CC terrain (apparently you already have some, but try with a new one).  If that looks good, try making your own over again.  You may have screwed up is some small way without realizing it.  I've done that a couple times.  :P

When you imported the textures, did you use "import" or "build DXT" in SimPE? If you use import and then click build to get the smaller mipmap sizes you often get a gap at the edge of images.
