I believe he was leaving the country for some reason.

Some nefarious reason?

To pick up JM's copy of Nightlife which is probably buried in a tomb in a desert in East Africa somewhere and Dr Boris won't know where it is until he collects a map from the one eyed bartender in a little bar in Ireland, then deciphers the coded map via a decyphering key found only on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. He may be some time.

Nah, he's sailing around the world looking for shady characters sitting in a dark corner of a tavern and offering to sell him pieces of the map to the location of JM's game dealer...

Actually he made a brief post recently to deny Rennie's accusation that he sent her "7 nasty PMs". He says he's never even met the woman. Which doesn't surprise me since she seems to be getting PMs from people she never met and seeing files uploaded that aren't there lately.

I always thought Dr Boris wasn't real....I imagined him to be JM's alter-ego!

I pretty much suspect as much too actually. ;)

I had been told by someone who shall remain anonymous that Dr. Boris was Pescado's cat, but Pescado denied this saying that his cat's name was Cat.  He also stated that Dr. Boris doesn't even know Rentech and he wouldn't send her nasty PMs because he hasn't cussed in 12 years.

There will always be rumours as to who Dr. Boris is, much like there are rumours as to who Pescado is. 

I still live by the philosophy that at least half the stuff you read on the Internet are all lies and half-truths.

My cat's name is Cat too!  :D So imaginative.....

When my sister took over my mother's cat after she dies, my sister called her Cattwo as she didn't want to call her Susie ( I don't know why).

As to Dr. Boris - I think he's a tame mountain lion!

I think Boris is a mad scientist who works on secret progects with JM, in their secret underground bunker.   ;)

Heehee, **Ducks behind screen** It was the "Rennie" nickname that threw me....Still sounds rather strange to me...Maybe someone assumed Boris's identity and spammed her.   ;)
And, I always just assumed Boris was JM....it's that whole Soviet "Boris" thing...ie Bathroom uses you implications.. :)

Actually I've always had the sneaking suspicion that Dr. Boris could be J.M.'s significant other  ;)

I think JM keeps him cryogenically frozen and just thaws him out when he's needed.
