More Awesome Than You!

I've got a saved game on my desktop and a different one on my laptop.  What I'd like to do is add my saved game from the desktop to the laptop and vice versa.  I've looked through the Spore folders, but I don't see a Saved folder or anything.  It may not even be possible to copy saved games over to another install with Spore, but I was hoping someone might know otherwise.

Savegames are stored in a "Spore" directory in %APPDATA%, unless I am mistaken.

That's correct; the physical location, though, is different depending on if you're in XP or Vista.

They're in DOCUME~1/LUSERNAME/APPLIC~1/SPORE. You need to save "EditorSaves", "Planets", "Pollination", "RigblockInfo", and "Games". Dump them into the corresponding place in your other computer.

It doesn't look like it will merge my two save files, though.  I have a pacifist veggie on my laptop, and an aggressive-spacefaring creature on the desktop.  I wanted to combine the two into one save file.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Luckily, HAL, I was able to do something close.    ;D

My laptop version was only at the beginning of the Creature stage.  (It was my second start at Spore, so I wasn't exactly motivated to go through it all again quickly.)  So all I need was to copy my files from "My Spore Creations" from the laptop, to the desktop.  From there I was able to load the creatures I created and start a "new game" in Creature Mode and select the creation I made on the laptop.

Now, if they had been in Space already, that would have been a whole nother challenge.   ::)

losing the cell stage perks?

Actually, apparently, if you played through any stages with a creature, it's "saved" in the .png, so you keep them.
(Of course, I haven't done this, the information is secondhand.)

Bah. Cheat it. "setconsequencetrait cell_BLAH" where BLAH is herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore. I finally became bored with cell stage after approximately 20 play throughs, so I skip it now.

Lol, I'm already bored with the game.  So, I'm going to take Will Wright's "advice"  (emphasis on quotes) and just play the game casually.  For Spore, that means play it every once in a great while.

My first race is on easy (because I was testing out the game) and is fighting the Grox and attempting to reach the core.

My second race are veggies and are on normal mode.  I'm just going to take my sweet time with them.

My third race, when I create it, will be on hard just so I can impress Pescado....   ;D  ... although I'll never be as awesome as he.  And I'll REALLY be taking my time with this one.

My interest in the game depends on how they fill the missing gaps.... ahem, excuse me, I mean "expand" the game with expansions.

In any case, the thing I wanna know, is if there's a way to cheat without getting that bastardy joker badge <_<

Depends on where you cheat. You can cheat in all the previous stages (But I think it might disqualify you for achievements), but if you cheat in space, you get the Joker.
