Title: Fig Leaves (How to remove them?)
Post by: mageborn on 2008 October 21, 18:58:12
I've searched google, this site and MTS2 for answers to this. I have all expansions/stuff packs installed. MATY AL DC installed and the nocensor package. Only CC is default replacement skins/eyes, EAxis official dl's and a few recolors/hair/clothing conversions.

Some (not all) of my sims are getting the fig leaf covering. This has occurred prior to AL, I think it also was in my FT and BV installations as well. Is there a way (besides testingcheats) to remove this option?

Fig whats now? Some new EAxis prudery afoot?
(And not, in fact, the Ecological Guru uni?)

That's the Natural whathever top career outfit; it should appear in the clothes bin also, I think with some unlocker mod for Uni outfits (windkeeper's maybe). That should explain why sometimes it is choosen in automatic family clothes bin for townies, graduated YAs and (as outerwear) pre-seasons sims.
I have it happen all the time; Goopy in fig-leaf building snowmen is one of my worst recurring nightmares.

No unlocker needed. Boolprop mode and Shift M?N? to enter CAS boolprop. Unlocks all careers and NPCs outfits.

Ah, okay, so it is the eco guru uni, just showing up uninvited. Possible to OFB 'suggest outfit' them out of it? Or failing that, Dizzy has a 'change appearance anyone' hack in his "Spiral" hack/mod collection here (http://www.nectere.net/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=4336f4daddaf0f01b8fbd2c76737bafc&topic=1140.0) (named Spiral why? no f-ing clue) that might do the trick for you. You have to have the desired outfit available in the family's dresser for the target to change into, but it essentially lets you - while playing one sim - click on the mirror to 'change appearance' for another sim. This lets you select clothing, as well as the usual hair/face stuff. Just nab them as they walk past or IngeCat them to your lot to make the changes.

And if you do, can I possibly convince you not to share them?  ;)

Yeah, uninvited. They seem to only wear it however when normal naked events occur. I have no censor patch, not sure if any other nudist hacks (if there is one is DC) that may prevent it completely. Having to change them everytime is a pain.

And it's not part of a default skin replacement, or undies?

I'll double check it, I was going to just do a clean installer search w/ pictures and see if I can nail them if they are somehow there. I know they aren't default replacement skins, because all the townies/dormies/npcs have the default skin replacements and I've seen them streak and or shower with no problems.

My elder male has relaxed in bed and shown them, and then yesterday one of my college sims walked out of the shower and downstairs to eat with the leaves. Other sims don't get shocked when they have the leaves, as opposed to being naked. Makes me believe it's some form of undies/clothing.

It is a form of clothing. It's been said before in this thread. The fig leaves is the top career level outfit for the Naturalist track. Just change their clothes.

Heh, it did not occurred to me to take pics, I was too busy EWWW-ing to think, I guess. That damn outfit is flagged for every bloody category, too. There's always some ugly townie/NPC that suddenly shows up wearing it during weddings, or at gym, etc; just when you thought you had eventually changed all their damn outfits for every frikkin' category in their family bin.
Its wide distribution also appears to favour elder hags, apparently. And with the most ugly hair. And with Caus archetype face. I bet they also stink permanently, just because, by design.

The one and ONLY scenario that never happened in my game is that some playable would took home from work an Ecological Guru townie properly dressed. No way.
I'm sure it's sim gods who are punishing me for all the nasty things I made to their little thingies during the years.

Thanks for all the insight. What made me think it was something more than just the Ecological outfit was the fact it only showed up in cases where the sim would otherwise be naked. I've never seen it elsewise. Mostly with outgoing sims who walk around naked after showers/woohoo/hottubs. I'll see if I can find a way to hide it further or remove it from categories so I never have to see it on them.

It's not "townified" so really it shouldn't show up randomly. Are you sure it's not a "feature" of your custom skintones?

When I get home I'm going to look into it further and see for sure. As far as I remember, it only has shown up on player-controlled sims, not townies/npcs.

Since the outfit is not townified, the only way they would get that outfit is if YOU picked it. It won't show up randomly. So it might be some kind of CC that is messed up. If they're controllable sims, you should be able to make them change their outfits.

Also, is it actually a fig leaf mesh or is it "painted" on the skin? If it's a mesh, it's the maxis thing. If it looks painted on you might have gotten ahold of a skin replacements that had a creator that thought they were clever. If you remove the replacements, do the fig leaves still pop up?

Yeah, this definitely has the vibe of a specific file that's behaving badly, whether it's a skintone, a nude/undies mesh, or even some 'nekkid people wear the fig leaf' mod that sneaked in attached to something else.

Maybe you delete a CC outfit and the fig leaves outfit is the random chosen one by the game  ???

Do you have some kind of nudity mod? I've never had even very outgoing romance sims still nude after coming out of the shower or getting out of bed.  I do use ACR and have it set so they are nude in bed but they always change afterward.  Only difference between them and anyone else that I have noticed is they don't get embarrased about being naked.  Even getting out of the hottub they change where other sims run around in their swimsuits.
