Title: EA are idiots (95 bard boulevard, Veronaville) Post by: cat on 2008 September 17, 12:43:09 There is a slight problem with 95 Brad Boulevard in my game, which appears to be a glitch from the game developers (thank you folks,I just love buying games that don't work properly). To demonstrate:
1). Open the lot 2). Delete the stairs inside the house. 3). Now add carpeting to the area where the stairs used to be on the second level of the house 4). Curse EA when you discover it doesn't work. I have two questions: 1). Is it just my game or do other people have the same problem? (I've had this problem since the day I bought holiday edition of sims 2). 2). Please, if anyone has a proplerly working version, please could you send me, a copy of the lot to see if that would work instead? Oh and is it just me or do EA get worse with every expansion pack? Or are they just incapable of making games that work without problems? Thanks Title: Re: EA are idiots (95 bard boulevard, Veronaville) Post by: SJActress on 2008 September 17, 14:08:33 Did you try the Stuck Object Remover?

You can remove the stairs easily enough, and replace them with other stairs, you just can't replace the area with carpeting. It'd still be worth a try though.

You have to have someone living there though, in order to go into live mode after placing it. Try putting a pillar under that part of the floor and then add your carpeting. You can then delete the pillar under it, without affecting the floor. If this is an EA house, it may just be that silly.
This is how you do "floating houses" as well. Found a solution that works in my game. First get the stuck object remover and install it. Move a sim in and remove stairs. Open up the cheat console, ctrl-alt-c, and type in MoveObjects on. Then put the stuck object remover all over the space on the upper floor where the stairs were and go back to play. Unpause if need be. You should then be able to place flooring.
Hope this helps. Title: Re: EA are idiots (95 bard boulevard, Veronaville) Post by: cat on 2008 September 17, 18:51:46 It's worked! Thanks everyone, that house has been annoying me for ages, as I reallly like it, but want to make it a little bigger. Unlike EAxis, I like to be able to get a double bed in at least one of the bedrooms. Now I can finally get the house I wanted. ;D
